Cheapest way to convert Euro to Sterling?

Hey everyone, I'm heading over to the UK for a week in a couple of days and I was wondering what is the cheapest way of converting my Euro? Convert here, use my atm card over there, or use a credit card over there? Also, I presume my Laser card won't work at the point of sale over there? Cheers in advance.

I am also goin over UK, and am going changing euros to sterling !!
Is bank , credit union or post office the best option ?
Im not going using cards over there as had bad experience using credit card in UK last year ?
