    Hi All

first time posting here. Dad diagnosed with end stage liver cancer in April this year, given 3 - 6 months... treatment is no longer an option, so he's currently being cared for at home with hospice help.

Dad was prescribed Nexavar, which had no affect on tumours and ravaged his body with side effects. All side effects quickly dissipated (when he came off it about 2 months ago) however his skin has not returned to normal. Nexavar is a chemo drug and has the same effect as chemo, hair loss, weight loss vomiting etc. A big issue for Dad was that he got all of these lumps (sort of like hard boils), predominantly on his face, neck and back. The skin is also very fragile and is prone to cracking/bleeding* (*only on the earlobe area). This side effect hasn't really cleared up and his GP and the hospice only say 'it'll go soon', he's been hearing that for weeks, and as you can imagine is miserable about it. The skin issue is affecting him more that the cancer itself, as he is a proud man and is embarrassed by the way it looks. Anyway sorry for rambling.... Basically I want to cheer him up a bit, and try help address the skin issue at the same time. I was thinking if a beautician or masseuse visited him at home and gave him a (gentle) facial and perhaps a back massage he'd feel a lot better. I don't expect them to solve the skin issue but even if it made 10% difference in how it looks (by boosting the circulation or something) then I know my dad would be very pleased.

So, can anyone offer advise? Would this have to be done by a specialist or would a regular therapist be able to do it? Is there such a thing as a mobile therapist/masseuse?

    thanks in advance ;)
