Buzzing sound above 12th fret

Hey I just acquired a Jap made 70's Fender Precession for 400 (bargain!).But on the 1st 2 strings when I play above the 12 fret theres a knocking buzzing where the strings are hitting of the neck.Now, I think its down to the nuts they're probably too low (..lol...sorry) so I was going to raise them but I'm kinda wary of…

Hey I just acquired a Jap made 70's Fender Precession for 400 (bargain!).But on the 1st 2 strings when I play above the 12 fret theres a knocking buzzing where the strings are hitting of the neck.Now, I think its down to the nuts they're probably too low (..lol...sorry) so I was going to raise them but I'm kinda wary of doing that.Should I try adjusting the truss rod instead?

Any advice will be welcome please thanks!

if the nut was too low you'd more than likely have buzzing on the first few frets.
A safer, easier thing to try first would be to raise the saddles on those 2 strings.
