Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cycling to Work, laptop/clothes bag

    Hi all,
Planning on taking the plunge and using the bike for getting to work. It's a 26k ride from one end of Limerick to the other. Can anyone recommend a very waterproof laptop bag that they have used?
Also, stopping a fair bit going through Limerick City, are cleats a good idea or should I sacrifice power over practicality?
    Cheers,
    Steve

If it is really pissing rain I put my laptop inside a plastic bag in a rucksack. Have never had a problem. Cleats/clipless are fine for commuting. Rather than a road system I would suggest you get SPDs which are walkable in and very easy to clip back into.

I use one of these. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Altura_Urban_Dryline_17_Inch_Briefcase_Pannier/5360029305/

Its quite big and bulky but there is good padding and room for some clothes. Water proof also. There is a smaller version available but can't seem to find a link. I got it in Wheelworx and it was expensive enough at 90 something euro.

I had tried to put the laptop in a regular ortlieb pannier but I didn't think it was correct for the job.
