Perhaps but there is also a saying that you have to spend money to make money.

I dont know about most lads but if there is something I need i tend to look it up on the web, it would be nice to be able to log on to an Irish sports shop and be able to see if they have it in stock and how much it costs. In this day and age the level of hush hush on how much each shop is selling something for is a bit on the far side.Unless you go into their place of buisness and have to try figure out what they have because most the stuff is behind the counter or displayed very badly, and god forbid if one traders might be able to see what the others are selling stuff at.

WOW. The Germans seem to treat shooting sports, as enjoyable and normal sport  I think I even spotted people having having fun in that vid

Here it would be seen as:

    Indoor range= underground bunker
    relaxed cafe= secret meeting area
Training rooms= Shed in Cooley mountains
Shopping area = meeting with russian mafia

Great looking place to visit. It would be a fun day out. Can you hire some guns to use on the range?

Interesting video about Swiss gun tradition.
We need a bit more of this enlightenment.

Also Hilltop and Rathdrum have indoor ranges

With Rathdrum rated for Rimfire and
Hilltop Rated for Rimfire and Centrefire.

    Small but perfectly formed.

Lads, that place is only 1hr 30mins from Munich. You can get a cheap Flight over and off you go. Would be worth the effort if we had the bucks to go. Might as the bank for a loan lol

I agree and dissagree with the statement about spending money to make money.. as you can spent €1000s and make €100s. Ideally you spend as little to make as much if you want to run a business

I totally agree with you on the website issue however, They cost a small fortune to set up (for any that ive priced).

As it is gunshops are struggling because... weve a tiny community, were in a recession and the new licencing system has driven a huge blow to shooters as well as dealers.

Id like to include that there is HUGE capital involved just in being able to have X amount of firearms, Y amounts of scopes and Z types of ammo. It realisticly ends up that most visitors to the site/store are going to drool over it and not buy while the dealer is left paying the interest on the loan he took to purchase stock.... or left waiting months for a licence to come through

perhaps some of the bigger shops here can do it .. but smaller would struggle with another bill !

Duffys can do it ! http://www.shoot.ie/
Take my nearest G&H in athy. now for years they were one of the biggest in Leinster for dealing with and look at their site and compare the difference.

If you want to sell you have to advertise. I often called places to be told "I will call you back in a day or two and let you know" and how many years now I am still waiting patiently by my phone for that all important call back ;).

Perhaps this thread shows what other dealers should be aiming for when it comes to good service...
