    Hi Guys,

Just wondering do you stock Boston Acoustics CD Receptor Micro CD/FM/AM Radio/Alarm System or similar? In the market for a quality desktop micro. Any suggestions welcome.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,

    Mill,

apologies but that's not a model that we stock at the moment:

    http://reviews.cnet.com/radios/boston-acoustics-horizon-duo/4505-7875_7-32849935.html

We do have a few of the Boston DUOi left in stock that we are clearing out at £79.95 (reduced from £169.95) This is an Ipod Dock / FM / AM desktop twin alarm radio - alternatively we have the excellent new Teac AURB (yep it does look strange it has a strange name but it really does sound excellent:

    picture.php?albumid=1057&pictureid=6673

This unit features 100 watts of pure audio delivered through two 11/4” tweeters and two 31/2” woofers - for the size the quality will astound you.

It's versatile as well with iPod dock - compatible with every iPod model, CD
player built-in, USB port for playback of MP3 memory stick files and
FM radio tuner - and a nice feature is that if you are not using the dock (or you never use it!) you can slide the dock drawer home so it looks neat.

On the Philips front we have the DCB293 incoming shortly:

    picture.php?albumid=1039&pictureid=7019

This is €199.99 but we will give you a 10% discount on it so it comes out at just €179.90 - again it's an Ipod ready unit with DAB Radio included and it's wall mountable.

Finally how about something really whacky (ok not as whacky as the Teac) Piobeer have launched a slew of new compact systems and I think the star of the range is the XW- NAV1 - I'm going to have one of these units myself as I really like it: http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/22/1866/227/XW-NAV1-K/index.html This really is a complete entertainment centre as it includes CD, Upscaling DVD Player, FM Radio, Alarm Clock and USB input - it looks great as well and is currently £249.95 but I can do you a special at just £229.95.

I hope some of these are interesting - if not send me back to work with more info/wants etc and I'll have a dig to see if there is anything else interesting,

    John,

Thanks very much for this. Both Teac & Pioneer are indeed interesting options. Any prices available yet for the Teac AURB?

    Cheers,

    Ash,

Thanks for this. Would like to consider a couple of other options before deciding. As primary use would be as a good old fashioned cd player (ipod connectivity, dab etc. not important - don't even own an ipod!) I would be willing to compromise on portability, as ipod docking systems would appear to dominate here, and consider a quality micro cd system suitable for small area instead (such as the denons, teacs, etc.) Any suggestions, including speaker options would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks once again.

    Millwood,

thanks again and here are a couple of options:

Denon DM38 & Boston BACS26 speakers - retail was £429.95 - Boardie special - £299.95/ €369.99 These bookshelf speakers work really well with the baby Denon and look and sound great! http://www.bostona.eu/en/loudspeakers_bookshelf_cs26.php
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/mini-hifi-systems/denon/dm38dab/deno-dm38dab-blk

Philips MCi300 - I have a very few of these units left that I can clear at €249.99 - this is a premium streamium unit which includes CD / Tuner / Internet Radio / Ethernet connection (It will stream music wirelessly from your PC over a network) - it looks pretty neat as well and has a decent 2 * 40 Watt RMS Amp built in - for €249 it really is a bit of a steal.

If you want something again with a bit of quality and compact we have just had the new Yamaha MCR040 and the MCR140 in at £199.95 / €239.99 & £249.95 / €299.99

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/ipods-docks-accessories/yamaha/mcr140/yama-mcr140

    More food for thought perhaps??

If any of these interest you - just drop me a line and we will do our best to keep you happy!
