Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

To get to Farran woods, head out the Macroom road from Ballincollig for about 4-5 miles. You will come to a light up junction called Curahally Cross roads. Take a right hear and head up the hill past Farran church. Follow the road for another maybe 2 miles and you should be at the entrance to Farran Woods.
I used to live close to the woods, so I did a small bit of Mountain Biking there. It has a nice few forest paths and roads, but it is primarily set up for walkers and can be very busy at the weekends. I think there are signs saying no bikes allowed.
There is one narrow trail leading off from an outhouse near the Deer enclosure. It seems to be only used by bikes and heads off east roughly in parallel with the main forest central road. You can make a good loop using this trail and using some of the side trails that exist between the central raod and the lower road by the lake. The side trails have some very testing climbs.
Overall I dont think there is too much to recommend to someone travelling a distance to get to Farran woods. I believe Tracton woods near Carrigaline is far better option. (Never been there myself)
