Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello everyone!

I'm seriously considering getting into cycling, then progressing onto competitive cycling.

Firstly, I'm going to say that I know that it will be a long, tough road, but I am willing to give it everything.

I was just wondering if someone could simply outline how one would work their way to the top of the cycling world, with the ultimate aim of competing in the Tour De France.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'd appreciate any responses.

Robert Millar was asked this and answered it quite succinctly.
First win at regional levelthen national level.
After that go abroad and win at international level .
If you can do this often enough you'll get offers to turn pro.
It's a tough tough sport and the dedication needed is enormous.

Get a coach, set short medium and long terms goals.
There are exercise tests you can get done which will tell you whether you have the potential to compete among the best.

Good luck and hopefully you'll be posting here in a few years happy with what you've achieved....
