Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Laptop Wireless Connectivity Issues

Working off a brand new Toshiba laptop & using Next Generation Eircom Broadband - both of which are working perfectly! Signal strength with the wireless broadband is fantastic unless.... if you plug out the laptop & just rely on the battery of the laptop, the connection keeps dropping out. This is the only time that this happens - is this normal with laptops as have only ever had PCs before?!

Just seems odd to have wireless broadband & then a laptop that needs to be plugged in to get it! I have tried seeing if the wireless adapter in the computer needed updating but its all working fine.

    Any advice/help? Thanks!

By default the wireless driver will drop the transmit power of the wireless card when you are on battery, which can mean the difference between good and bad connectivity. You can change that setting in device manager and the driver properties though. Look for things like "power saving" and "tx power".

    Hope this helps.
