I'd like to think that if we move towards a more educated and intelligent society which encourages free, rational thought that these things won't still be happening. I think this will be achieved, and i think the internet will play a huge role in this.

Do you know why the woman was having the abortion?? We're not tod so you can't judge.

How old is this video?? Thinks are done differently now at/before the twelve week stage. Th pill abortion winds down the body from pregnancy mode. A foestus can't feel pain until about 20 weeks, or so research tells us.
Hi. still kinda new here. Are you a mod?

I hate it when a mod deletes something cause they disagree with it.

It is the apitamy of unprofessionalism, and patheticness. "I am God--watch me push button--poof, your opinion is gone cause I didn't lke it."

    :D:D

You said things are done differentlly now. The abortion "technique" was not the point! It was that at 12 weeks a human baby can feel pain when being killed.

If it was removed it was done simply because the mod had a different opinion.

    How sad.
Folks this thread is not about pro life vs. pro choice. Please return thread to topic.

    I don't understand.

Topic is "What will be our times great shame?"

Some people think that abortion is a great shame.

What is so hard to comprehend about that?

Let me guess--you are pro abortion, so you can't find it in you to let anti abortionists have their say. What threatens you so much that you can't let people debate and have an exchange of ideas????

I really feel like leaving this site if the modarators are not gonna be moderated by the site owner!!

Read the thread name please. This is not off topic.

How foolish it was for so-called American, cooperating British, and other western leaders to think that war would forestall, mitigate, or otherwise prevent the 2nd Great Depression from occurring during the early 21st Century.

I deleted your video because it was unnecessary visual propaganda designed for shock value. You insist on dragging this thread to a pro life vs. pro choice debate. I have made no indication of where I stand on the matter. I am simply here to facilitate the discussion of the thread topic for all posters rather than to back your agenda. The thread is about what will be our times great shame.
If you wish to question my moderation any further do so by dropping me a private message. If you wish to further drag this thread off topic and complain about the moderation I will remove your access to the forum as you are ruining this thread with your moaning. I'm open to discussion on the points you raise and am happy to clarify further via private message but not on this thread where the topic is not "my problems with abortion and dr.bollocko."

I reckon it'll be the administrators rejection of a classic rock forum on boards.ie tbh.
Either that or the way that we've been systematically lied to about nutrition and good food and what to eat for about the past thirty or so years by a bunch of short sighted hippies peddling bad science.

    Its waste isn't clean.

As for safe, when it has the potential for such catastrophe, and seems to be a magnet for management styles built on cover ups and shortcuts, safe becomes a variable.

    Apparently not.

Current times, not current time. Is the past current times as people have talked about past events, why not look forward 5 or 10 years if others are looking back 5 to 10 years?
Why not have current times in the middle of a timeframe rather than at an end of a timeframe when it is all then just past events?

Have you not being reading what Obama said? He said earlier this year the US would would not use nuclear weapons but makes exceptions for Iran and North Korea.

debatable. yes its carbon neutral but the waste when the plant is finished is toxic for along time as in the.

I'm not anti nuclear power I just think that in a hundred years people will be pretty pissed with us for handing them a load of radioactive control rods.

they certainly will not be happy about.

    mass killing of animals...
    refer- wikipedia about Coetzee:

    "
In recent years, Coetzee has become a vocal critic of animal cruelty and advocate for the animal rights movement.[46] In a speech given on his behalf by Hugo Weaving in Sydney on 22 February 2007, Coetzee railed against the modern animal husbandry industry.[47] The speech was for Voiceless, an Australian non-profit animal protection organization.[48] Coetzee's fiction has similarly engaged with the problems of animal cruelty and animal welfare, in particular his novels Disgrace, The Lives of Animals and Elizabeth Costello. He is vegetarian.[49]
In his book, The Lives of Animals, Coetzee makes several points about human attitudes toward animals. 1. War - Humans were in combat with animals for millions of years and we won the fight definitively a few hundred years ago when we invented guns. “In the olden days the voice of man, raised in reason, was confronted by the roar of the lion, the bellow of the bull. Man went to war with the lion and the bull, and after many generations won that war definitively. Today these creatures have no more power.” 2. Compassion - Since victory, we have been occasionally compassionate. “It is only since victory became absolute that we have been able to afford to cultivate compassion. But our compassion is very thinly spread.” 3. Slaves - Coetzee’s character Elizabeth Costello in The Lives of Animals compares animals to prisoners of war. Her son says that one generally doesn’t kill prisoners of war but turns them into slaves. She agrees that this is what our captive farm animal populations are. 4. Contempt - Protagonist Costello states that we don’t hate animals because they aren’t worth hating anymore. We instead regard them with contempt. 5. Kindness toward animals is recent and related to concern for humans. Protagonist Costello says in a philosophic debate, “Kindness to animals has become a social norm only recently, in the last hundred and fifty or two hundred years, and in only part of the world. You are correct too to link this history to the history of human rights, since concern for animals is, historically speaking, an offshoot of broader philanthropic concerns – for the lot of slaves and of children, among others.”

Why would the morality behind the decision matter, when the outcome is the same.

    It's the Woman's body.
If she wants to **** around. So be it.
If she wants to use the morning after pill, which can act as an abortitive drug rather than merely a preventative one, so be it.
If she wants and abortion. So be it.

and what business is it for one stranger to be bothered about some other strangers decision to have baby or not

there are already wayyyyyy to many of us on the planet already
