Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Yup.

I thought the team TT was on tonight, thanks to Tom and Caroline for correcting that, hopefully no one else will make the same mistake!

Enjoyed that. Plenty of attacking. Did I spot the OP walking his bike home at the end?

Most of it by you. Very aggressive stuff there Diarmuid, you were unlucky not to get one to stick.

Good race. I got a cramp in my calf after lap 1, stretched it out a bit and it felt ok when I was spinning away but I pretty much had to hang around the back and not contest anything, which sucked! Brutal headwind on the Trim road, Velo 2010 tried to bridge across to the breakaway but it really wasn't the place to do it.

I don't know who the 2 breakaway guys were but they did well and there was no real interest in chasing them down until very late on, which I guess made sense because they weren't really getting away.

Saw Levitronix tyre explode, hope you made it home ok.

Oh, Aidan, I did indeed stop into Joe's: deluxe quarterpounder and a can of coke got me home, I think it was close to 120km for the day. Really need to drive out to the Batterstown ones in future, tired before I even start racing :(

Good race. First time in Semi-limit and it showed early on. I dropped off the back around the technical bit at Mullagh. At one point I must have been 300m off the group as we headed down Summerhill road. However I managed to TT back to them before the turn.

Quickly recovered and made an attempt to get across to the break(4 guys at that stage) as Dirkvoodoo pointed out, into a headwind. Again a lack of racing judgement to try this but I felt OK. I got to equi-distance between the 2 groups before the 'man with the hammer' started hitting small nails into my thighs. Sat-up and looked back but the bunch were making slow progress up to me, so I went again. However the wind was even stronger at that point so I gave up.

Before the start I overheard the Tiernan guys mentioning attacking on the second lap. I kept an eye out for this. My experience of the first lap made me determined not to lose contact again around Mullagh. I stayed in the hunt and when the Tiernan guys had a crack, so did I. Quickly though we were brought back by the Lucan guys who picked up the pace.

At that point the race hit flatter and so quicker roads. I felt good but there was no chance of going again. Gradually the remnants of the breakaway were brought back just in time for the bunch sprint. I dont sprint so I wheeled across the line with more knowledge of racing technique, though with still plenty to learn! Congrats to the winners on the night.

ps, Saw Irelands F1 commentating supremo Declen Quigley at the sign-on area but didn't have a pen and paper for an autograph. Worth a few quid on eBay!:D
