Golden grass?

Hi folks I'm looking to seed an area with a type of grass that's golden or brown in colour - as opposed to green. It won't be cut or mowed ever, & preferably should not grow above 2-2.5 feet. Does such a variety exist? Any reccs? Failing this I could always throw a shot of roundup over the normal stuff :D Cheers
