Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    ESPN

Carlo Ancelotti's double champions start defence of their league title at home to newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion, a side managed by SW6 legend Roberto di Matteo.

I'm predicting Chelsea to win 3-0.

    Your thoughts/predictions?

Hoping for a convincing display first and foremost to lift the team. Don't want a repeat of last seasons dodgy last minute win over Hull.

I have a feeling it could be a 6+ goal fest.

Two times now where Ibanez has been closed down with possession in his own box. He has a bit of adjusting to the Premiership to do for sure.

    Weather report - it's lashing

Great finish there from Bednar, pity it was offside

Tell ya something. WBA are looking really good, playing some nice football and ferreiras is looking scared every time somebody takes him on.

I'm always happy to se Ferreira in the Chelsea team - he's a bit of a liability these days tbh. Ivanovic can feel very hard done by to be dropped for him.

Ivanovic apparently picked up a knock mid week

That can be the only reason he is out of the team. Otherwise I would b pulling my hair out if I was Ivanovic because he was class for Chelsea last year.

    EDIT: Ferreira looking dodgy again.

    2-0 - Drogba

    Lets not go overboard now.
If the wall didn't f**k up it would still be 1-0.

There was nothing ''stunning'' about it.

I didn't watch the replay before posting but still it was pretty special a quick free kick from a bit under 35 yards with little or no run up and he squeezes it right into the corner.

Don't think WBA are doing too badly tbh.

WBA getting far too much time on the ball for my liking.

Gotta agree, midfield isn't showing enough urgency, Mikel looks particulary lax especially on the ball.

Yossi on for his league debut. Wish him all the best. I still think he looks better in Red.
