A running log of my bets starting off on the opening day of 2010/2011 football season. Mostly football betting but I will also have some dart and MMA betting aswell I imagine.

The last time I done one of these threads it kinda fell flat on its face because I was keeping a bank for exact money in my account and I was skint and had to withdraw my money  This time around I'll probably just keep a running tab, maybe have it green if I'm up or red if I'm down.

So lets kick off the new season with my season long bets :-

£5 - Blackpool, West Brom, Blackburn @ 30/1 I think Blackpool will really struggle this year. I think they were 1 of favorites to be relegated from championship last year but had a storming season. West Brom have a very difficult start, they could find themselves low on confidence after their first 4 games. Blackburn, well sam allardyce is in charge, I don't like him so they are my outside pick for relegation.

£5 - To record the lowest ever points in Prem League history? - Blackpool to gain 10 points or less @ 8/1

£10 - Team to keep the most clean sheets? - Liverpool @ 4/1 - Liverpool are always in with a chance here with a very solid Pepe Reina in nets. Liverpool are always up there(chelsea/Liverpool both had 17 last season)

£1 on each of following season handicaps :-
    Arsenal +9 points @ 16/1
    Liverpool +13 points @ 16/1
    Bolton +41 points @ 14/1
    Stoke +40 points @ 14/1
    Birmingham +39 points @ 16/1

£1 acc - top team goals scorer :-
    W Rooney , M Chamakh , D Drogba , J Defoe , C Tevez (about 41/1 for acc)

    £1 acc :-
    Ajax(win league) , Inter(win league) , Barcelona(win league) , D Drogba(top goal scorer) about 49/1 for acc

Emotional & financial boot in the balls last night

    -£6.24

    £10 Tuesday night treble
    Sevilla (-1) evens
    Sampdoria 11/10
    Leeds 11/10

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

well Tuesday night's games turned out badly ..... -£16.24

Sorry for after timing....but its a loss anyway  £5 treble last night on Trabonzor(DNB), FC Utrect & Fenerbanche.

    -£21.24

    £5 Friday night treble
    Linfield 1/3
    M V Bommel to be booked 11/10
    Colchester v Carlisle - both teams to score - NO - 11/10

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

Oh joy....V Bommel played like an angel last night  thought when Bayern went 2-0 down he would have started kicking all around him...sadly not.

    -£26.24

    £5 PP enhanced bet
    Chelsea,Spurs,Man Utd & Fulham to win 14/5.

I think the 3 home teams are nailed on to win, Fulham could find it difficult but they seem to have gotten better in last couple of games under Hughes.

    £5 treble:
    Hartlepool DNB 6/5
    Sheff U 10/11
    Ipswich/Bristol C - over 2.5 goals evens

I was going to take Hartlepool at 2/1 for the win but decided go for DNB as it could be a tough home match for them. I like Sheff Utd today and think they'll get their first win under Gary Speed. David James in nets and conceding goals.....could be another goalfest today against Keane's Ipswich

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

Spurs? didn't foresee that happening :D

As for the other bet.....Hartlepool  Kinda got that slighty wrong :p

    -£36.24

£3.39 Saturday night quad(sorry about after timing for the man utd part), I put it on earlier and been trying to get the kitchen painted since)

    Nani to score anytime 21/10
    Roma/Cesena - both to score - NO 8/11
    Seville 8/11
    Malaga/Valencia - both to score - YES 8/11

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,480 ✭✭✭Devastator

WAHEY! Its only taken me until page 2 of this log to show a negative turning into a healthly positive :D

    Nani scored
    Seville won 4-1
    Roma/Cesena 0-0
    Malaga/Valencia 3-1(?) I know both scored anyway :p

    -£36.24 - stake £3.39 = -£39.63 + £62.71(returns) = £23.08

Maybe that darker blue I mistakenly used last post turned my luck :p

Ok so lets keep the betting going now we're in the green and hope that form continues. Lets have a few UFC bets for tonight.

    £4 Diaz/Davis going the distance 11/8
    £4 Maynard/Ken Flo going the distance 8/11
    £2 double : Edgar 9/4 & Maynard 6/5

    £10 staked = £13.08

    Diaz Vs Davis
The reason I see this going the distance is because Nate Diaz doesn't like getting too involved with good strikers and looks to stay out of their reach. So I see Diaz moving around a lot so stop Davis getting his punches away, therefore seeing this as a bore 3 round decision.

    Maynard Vs Ken Flo
I'm going for Gray Maynard, he's the underdog. Florian seems to have some trouble with people going at him, if he's not in control of the fight then he's susceptable to a defeat. Maynards a good wrestler, so I can see Gray getting Florian down, laying on top of him for pretty much most of the match and the fight going the distance. I think Maynard will win on points(probably from takedowns).

Edgar - well he beat Penn last fight, again MASSIVE underdog considering he's the champ. I can see this fight going a bit like the last, with Penn unable to get in on Edgar due to the difference in speed. Could go distance, could be another contraversial points decision....if Edgar can get the upper hand in the takedowns then he could nick this.

£42.41 on Greg Soto beating Nick Osipczak (UFC) @ 5/4

I could go into reasons.....but trust me on this one

    Pretty good night

Diaz/Davis didn't go exactly as I thought. Definitly not a bore draw! Diaz came out a lot more aggressive & caused a bad cut above Davis' eye. Diaz did start to stay outside more when Davis started landing punches but I knew when Diaz got the fight to the ground in the last it was over....1m 15 secs off the fight going the distance, bet beat. £4

Maynard fight pretty punch as I expected, points victory for Maynard who got on top of Florian and done nothing. £6.91

Frankie Edgar was the far better fighter, won a easy decision victory so double came in. £14.30

    £13.08+£6.91+£14.30 = £34.29

PP voided this bet saying it was late :mad:

£3.42 treble to start Sunday off
    Zenit 10/11
    Bayer Leverkusen (-1.0) @ evens
    Bolton v Birmingham DRAW 12/5

Zenit - top of the league. Watched Loko last week at home and they didn't create too many chances so went for the away win.
Leverkusen - good home record playing a team who were pretty awful last season away from home, I see this trend continuing today.
Bolton/Birmingham I see being a scrappy game with few chances and possibly finish 0-0. Both teams are pretty solid and will not give too much away.
