Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Wigan 0 - 1 Blackpool

Kenwyn Jones Stoke debut lasted 12 minutes, a crunching but apparently fair tackle in the Wolves game.

    Not threadworthy tbh.

There is no thread for all the games so here it is.

Reason for starting it. Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Everton

Niko Kalinci scores after a desperate error and scores.

This ain't a match thread horsebox.

Though now that I realise its for all the matches my apologies mike.

Blackpool should be 2-0 up. Stupid refs.

Wigan are playing woefully against Blackpool.

Yep, looks like a groin injury. Nothing new there, thats the only reason we have him, if he was constantly fit he would be with one of the big clubs.

I don't see how this wasn't a match thread. It may not have said match thread in the title but mike was clearly talking about a match...in a thread.

Now it is about many matches. It is a many match thread, with many matches in.

Blackpool miss a sitter, 2 players through on the 'keeper.

Wigan are a disgrace. No fans and crap players.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Blackpool could be 3-0 up. Brett Ormerod, ex Soton working well by the sound of it.

I'm watching the Rovers game but I have BBC live text on the Villa game and they still haven't reported the goal, they have the score at 1-0 but nothing about it in the text commentary so I though it was a bit odd, clicked the Rovers game and they don't have any report on the goal in that game. So thats well doubly odd, so I go and check the Blackpool and low and behold no report of the goal in the text there either.

They have no text commentary on any of the goals in the Premier League to date. Is there something I don't know about?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Has Victor Moses been on steroids over the Summer? He looks massive.

    It's working fine for me.

EDIT/ Actually, my mistake, I see what you mean now.

They do in the main feed that serves all games, i usually just keep an eye on that

Blackburn goal: We're 15 minutes in and it's a horrible mistake by Everton keeper Tim Howard, who comes to collect a cross, inexplicably drops the ball into the path of Nikola Kalinic, and the striker gratefully tucks it into the empty net.

Well well. The no-hopers from Blackpool 2 up.

Wigan's teamsheet does not look at all strong though. This is it:

    1. Chris Kirkland
    17. Emmerson Boyce
    3. Antolin Alcaraz
    2. Steve Gohouri
    31. Maynor Figueroa
    4. James McCarthy
    21. Mohamed Diame
    11. Victor Moses
    8. Ben Watson
    20. Hugo Rodallega
    9. Mauro Boselli

Could be a long hard season for Wigan I think.

How the hell did that turn into a 4 v 2 in Blackpool's favour.

    Wigan are absolutely SHOCKING.

    3-0 at Half time.

    3-0 :D

    Come on you Tangerines!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this Wigan team the worst that has ever been in the Premier League?

I'm not joking when I say this, but the two Wigan central defenders would not even make my 5-a-side team. I really am struggling to remember seeing two worse players in the Premier League.

    Are you kidding?

Alcaraz, Figueroa, McCarthy, Moses, Rodallega would all start in most Premier League teams. That is a very decent lineup. Its the manager thats not up to it imo.

Fixed that there. You have to stop overrating mediocrity, its becoming kinda like your gimmick.

There is no doubt for me that Martinez is not good enough.

Moses and McCarthy wouldn't start for many other teams for me. I havn't seen enough of Alcaraz to comment, Figueroa and Rodallega might still get out of there!

No I'm not kidding at all. That to me looks a pretty mediocre Wigan lineup at this level. Most of their players are no more than average, and today's scoreline certainly does nothing to change my opinion on that.

    You're clearly not watching this.

Alcaraz has had the worst Premier League debut I've ever seen.
Figueroa has been completely destroyed by a cart horse (Taylor Fletcher).
McCarthy has ALOT to prove and wouldn't be on your list but for the fact he's Irish.
    Moses hasn't done a thing.
Rodallega I'll give you. He's clearly a good player, but getting service whatsoever.

I have to say I dont understand why he has been rated so highly? He seems pretty bad to me
