Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There are times I wonder if he is the greatest footballer playing the game at present. Even better thasn Messi. So much of what he does seems innocous but when you see photos like those I do wonder does he make Messi look good? The attention Iniesta requires for 90 minutes has to give Messi more time and space, perhaps Messi's 'mortality' with Argentina is down to the fact he doesn't have an Iniesta requiring so much watching.

I know that may be somewhat a ridiculous thing to say when you consider what Messi has done and will do but still, Iniesta is just such a special player.

I think Xavi and Iniesta create so much time and space you feel sorry for players chasing shadows. Just when they need a breather the ball is played 40 yards to a player like Messi and they are just falling over themselves because of fatigue at that stage. Nobody in the Argentina team does that and defenders can get closer to him for longer. He struggles for Argentina because of this imo

I've said this before - pound for pound I think Iniesta is the best player in the world. His skill, hold up play, runs, finishing - every facet of his game is close to flawless.

His control and touch are second to none, he never seems to lose control of the ball.

Most natural footballer in the world? Yes. Reminds me of Zidane and Laudrup a lot.

Greatest player in the world? No. That's Messi, and by a distance.

That said, what they both share is the ability to dominate a game almost single-handedly. They're the only two players around at the moment who can do this against top opposition. You could include Xavi, but I'm talking about something different to how he influences a game. For me, the best individual performance by a Barça player this past season was Iniesta's second half alone in the first league Clásico. Just unbelievable.

There isn't another player that makes me coo as Iniesta does and I'd include Messi in that...his change of pace, swivel turn, feints. There was a turn against Ireland that later set up an offside Torres free on goal that was magical.
