Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And as was pointed out at the time that pic first made an appearance,

"The gash — caused by the studs of Fulham striker Hugo Rodallega — was deep enough to cut all the way to the thigh bone and required surgery under general anaesthetic."

    and

"The horrific wound that has ruled Wayne Rooney out for a month came within a millimetre of puncturing the femoral artery in his thigh"

    So...way, way different.

The bogball player had a cut on his head, Rooney's cut was so deep it almost severed an artery.

Perhaps that's the kind of "sport" those tough bogball players should try out if 'quantity of blood visible' is the only way they can think of to try 1up on soccer.

Mistaking amount of blood for severity of injury = first aid fail

Also lets not forget the amount of footballers, sorry "soccer" players that have continued playing on with head cuts wrapped in bandage but hey we're not allowed say that when it's stacked up again GAA so....

Fabrice Muamba returns to White Hart Lane last night for Spurs Europa League game, first time being there since his cardiac arrest.

Didn't see the footage but apparently he walked over and pointed to the spot where he collapsed. Fantastic reception from the Spurs fans too, he was understandably emotional.

Roma kicked off tonight with a 0-2-8 formation.

    Pretty mad to look at.

What was the reason for this? I see they won 2-0, were they just weirdly set up for the kick off or did they actually play the formation for a while?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

It's Zeman, they do this a lot.

Zeman can be a bit nuts sometimes, but it was closer to 4-3-3 than anything.

I cant paste the img in here (without snipping and uploading) but the average position is on here

How could Liverpool beating Wigan Athletic possibly be considered an upset. Liverpool were 4/6 favourites to win the game. How is it possibly a shock? Me thinks this is being done purely to rise Liverpool fans. Its not on.

Prior to this game, Wigan had won 2 away games this season (Spurs, Southampton) compared to Liverpool's 1 home win (Reading). So yeah Wigan were favourites

I know it's fake, but I thought it was kinda funny that they'd try to intimidate Man Utd with a devil. It's like trying to scare Liverpool with a liver bird or Arsenal with a cannon :pac:

^^ It says in the link that the "break in" was all part of an ad campaign for "spray chalk".

Also I don't even know if the Arena can do yellow or not but it doesn't change colour like that. It kind of "flicks" from one colour to another and does so in sort of rhomboid segments rather than all at once.

    Great stadium anyway!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,627 ✭✭✭Lawrence1895

I still think, that video was a prank. It needs a long time to 'amend' the color of that stadium, and the police would have been there well before it happened.

But if it happened, not a bad idea, Germany's football capitol is yellow and black anyway :P
