Hi all,

We have been living in a house for a year.

Our lease is up next month.

We have asked our landlord for a rent reduction for the 2nd year.

He said he'll have a look and see how the market is and will let us know if he can give us a reduction or not.

I'm trying to do a bit of research myself. Is there any way of telling average rent prices in an area (apart from just browsing properties on daft etc?)

Have you applied any pressure on him, like telling him you need to seek out cheaper rent?
We did and got a 15% reduction.
