Most efficient way of withdrawing money

Going to Oz for maybe a few months, 6 at the max. I didnt setup an Oz bank account yet, and now wondering if I really need too, was thinking of putting money in a credit card instead and topping it up when need be. Going to Oz for maybe a few months, 6 at the max.

How efficient is it in transfer terms eur/aud to use a irish credit card as opposed to transferring a lump sum into an Oz account?
