Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    from sportinglife
Blackburn have confirmed they have held a "cordial and productive meeting" with Indian businessman Ahsan Ali Syed's company over a proposed takeover.

Bahrain-based Syed, owner of Western Gulf Advisory, confirmed on Monday he was keen to buy the Lancashire club and said he wanted to give manager Sam Allardyce a transfer kitty of up to £100million.

Syed also said he would like to complete the takeover inside the next fortnight but Rovers have not made any other comment apart from confirming the talks are continuing.

Allardyce must be saying "not again" :)

We've been discussing this stuff in the Blackburn Rovers thread. There is nothing concrete yet just a case of somebody having a serious look although I like what this guy is offering if its for real.

£100 million would make us an elite team. We will surprise a lot of people this year with the team we have now. If we could bring in a top notch midfielder and striker and some squad players we could seriously challenge the top 8 in a big way.

100m is one thing paying their wages is another especially considering how they already have the cheapest tickets in the league and not huge attendences

Doesnt soemthing exist in the Walker trust that stops this happening?

I think for Blackburn to fill the stadium, based on the towns population 1 in every 3 people have to turn up to the match! It is a strange one considering the potential new owner has expressed a desire to improve the stadium.

I think he maybe wants to try and attract the Muslim population of the town towards the club. Nearly 19% of the Population of the town are Muslim immigrants.

I don't think so, seems as though the Walker Trust have been looking for a new owner for the past 3 years. The money Walker left in his death has gone now i'd say, the club was always going to need a new owner once the income stopped.
