Disappointing tonight, kicking the door in the neighbours face saved the show from being awful.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,743 ✭✭✭Revolution9

The Mrs. Spriggit door kick was possibily the funniest thing I've seen in the Inbetweeners.

First half of tonights show was average, second half was back to their best imo

This ep had me laughing the whole time. Some classic lines:

"What if my mum sees this?"
"She won't. I don't think they've got Facebook on Fergus' cock!"

"They're only daffodils! ****ing show-off's! 'Woo, look at me: I'm out first, I'm all yellow!"

And the Golf acronym. Haha legendary.

Last two episodes have been much better than the first few! :)

THought tonights episode was brilliant. It was far more similar to the last two series. THe thing about the dog at the end was brilliant!

Tonight started off disappointing but got better as it went on.

I definitely think ending the show after this series is the right thing, I don't think The Inbetweeners has the mileage for a fourth season tbh.

There's been some great times though! :D:D

Definately the poorest episode of this season but it still puts alot of other "comedies" to shame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,571 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Poorest episode of the season for me. But it still had me laughing so it just shows how good of a comedy is when it's poor episodes are still funny.

As said before Will kicking the door into the auld wan's face was the highlight of the episode.

E4 went blank out on me last night for about an hour, so missed it. When is the repeat on More4 does anyone know ?

It's not repeated til 10.35 on Thursday night on E4, or 10.55 on Friday night on Channel 4.

Am sure it's up on 4OD by now though..

    EDIT: Yep!

gonna make me some toast when i get home from work......

i personally thought the best scene is when they cut back to the lads in the house and Neil had a 3 wood in his hand

'what do you reckon this would do to a daffodil Si?'

ALthough there were a few laughs I thought that some of this week's episode was very poor, perhaps the poorest yet.

I predict this series finale might be the last episode we see of it.

Not sure if anyone has seen Simon Bird's show on BBC4 but it ain't great and the one I saw wasn't very funny and had below Z-list guests.

I think it's already been decided by the producers/writers/cast etc. that this is the last series of it.

Disappointing that next weeks is the last ever.

I disagree with others saying its better to finish now than burn out because I feel it's ending way too soon. 18 twenty-three minute episodes is not a lot of episodes at all.

E4 have steadily moved up from a couple of hundred thousands viewers in season 1 to some 3 million in season 3. There is still a lot of gas in the tank.

I agree with not wanting to burn out too soon, but 18 episodes in is very soon to be calling it a day.

"Wee Cum Tit Village" - I never realised how creative Neil and Jay were! Poor enough episode though.

This show will be missed, hopefully they end it on a high.

Very disappointing episode; Although Wills scene with Gilbert was funny; "But I dont know, I would have grassed, You know I would!"

The squirrel & the dog stories werent funny at all; just stupid.

Thought we would have seen some of Tara in this episode; the aftermath of her breakup with Simon has some scope to be funny. The best scenes are usually in the school afterall

Do you really want the Inbetweeners to become another Simpsons? I mean, it's not like having shorter seasons makes it immune to the problems all TV shows face. Just look at Red Dwarf - great show, based on 6-episode seasons, it kept going on and on and by about the sixth season the shine had really worn off, and yet we still got another two seasons and a three-part special, with about an hour's worth of genuinely funny material (by the standard of the first series or two) between the lot of them.

I'd much rather it did the same thing as Black Books - give us a few decent series worth of strong material, then bow out before they run out of ideas.

Isnt there a film coming out? And I think there has been a suggestion that there will be another final episode after the film to "tie things up". So next Mondays episode isnt the end of the inbetweeners

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 460 ✭✭KeanSeenan

I think it kind of has to finish up after the film, the main concept behind it is that they aren't smart or cool in terms of secondary school teenagers, to try and adapt that to college, especially as Neil won't be getting in, would just seem too forced.

No not at all. Sure The Simpsons has been around 20+years and I'm not saying keep going until it gets overly stale. My point is that it seems to have come to a conclusion very soon. 3 seasons, each of 2ish hours of material is very short for a programme that has a lot of potential, which I don't think it has taken advantage of yet. I'd hate to see it run out of steam but at the moment there's still a LOT of steam left in the tank, for maybe 6-10 more episodes at least.

I would of thought that there would be 1 more series with the lads finishing their exams and that then leading into the film next summer.

Its a pity really its a really great show. I do think it has suffered from over hyped expectations among the fans.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭giggsy664

I'd love if they had a 6 episode series 4, which kinda had the Summer after this series. It could be split into 2 * 3 episode blocks, with a month's airing time in between them. The gap would be filled with the film. This would increase revenue for the producers, and, IMO, provide a better ending to show, where at the end, they could all go their separate ways. It would also give the writers a chance to use any gags that haven't been aired yet.

Because BBC and C4 traditionally commission 6 epiosde series. This makes for a leaner, tighter superior product as there's very little if any filler.

There is only so many times you can hear Jay say the exact same thing and Will to make the exact same retort or watch Neil doing something stupid in one episode or series. Its a comedy not a serial-drama.

It was an excellently produced piece of comedy which will stand to them.

Agree. It is an excellent show, but as you said it really boils down to the exact same routine in various situations. Not that there's any need to, but no characters have developed at all from their "day one" personas and without any development there's a limit to how many times you can re-run the same gag.

I heard that too. The film will be about their holiday after their exams finish, and then there was some talk that they might do a one off special to sort of wrap it all up. Like they get their results and college offers, or no college offers as the case may be. I'd say that would depend on how well the film does, if the boys would all come back etc. etc.

Well the season finished on a high - I thought that was the best episode out of the six by far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,096 ✭✭✭LadyMayBelle

Seriously?? By far the worst of the series, if not all three series. Really disappointed, and sticking in the last scene in the tent was running off the bit in series one with Carly's brother.. bored now and very disappointed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,854 ✭✭✭zuutroy

    Yeah no great shakes imo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,053 ✭✭✭Aldebaran

Sad to see it go, but that was the weakest episode of the series for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,195 ✭✭✭✭Basq

    Not great at all..

.. but still sad to see it go!

On the upside, 'Misfits' advertisement during the break for it - new series next month. Woot! \o/

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,954 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

Didn't seem like much of an ending really. I wonder did they know when they were making it that they weren't going to do another series?

I wanted to know what Carli's text said, but I suppose we're just to assume she likes Simon back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Terrible ending episode imo. But still great programme! One of my all time favourites and it will be missed.

Well the season finished on a high - I thought that was the best episode out of the six by far.

I laughed more tonight than at any others in this series. Gilbert's response to Neil was classy, and exposed a bit more of his character than I expected - not just one-dimensional. The puking at the end was far from classy, but was fairly classic.

Terrible third season compared to the first two.

Seemed to have run out of ideas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

It ended at the right time.

I got a good few laughs from this series, but nothing in comparison to the first two.

It was still one of the best comedies on television though, and I'm looking forward to the film (although Carly can sod off, I never liked her)

They have to play on the Carli story in a new series or the film. Preferably a new series.:P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

They should make a female Inbetweeners starring Carli and some other birds from school. That would be great, because women are hilarious.... right?

Although my version would involve pillow fights and car washing with no dialogue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,552 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Fairly disappointing final episode. Was actually pretty boring. Might be the right time to end it as they seem to be running out of ideas this series and resorting to bodily fluids gags in most episodes.

They left a few strings hanging though so looks like it'll be back in some form whether on TV or as a film.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,954 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

Some of the actors are on twitter and have said that it's pretty much a no go for another series for TV, but they start filming the film next year.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 6,755 ✭✭✭A V A

there were a few funny parts but it had to be the worst episode iv seen considering it was suppose to be the last episode !!!!!!!!
i hate the way the season is so short !!!!

Ah I wanted some sort of closure on Carli, I thought it would be in this episode

It better be in the film
