Problem with Desire's screen?

Hi was looking into getting the HTC Desire from Meteor for my birthday, owever when my sisters rang up Meteor told them it wasn't availible until at least September, I knew this. However what i hadn;t heard is that this is because a lot were returned due to problems w/ the screen. Have any Desire owners experienced this or is it just a weak batch??

That's not quite right, it's because the supply of AMOLED screens has run out and they have had to switch to SLCD.

As said before they can't make enough screens for the demand. I managed to find one in the car phone warehouse in Cavan last week.

htc is low on AMOLED screens due to the high demand of the desires...so the simple desire is gonna be coming out with Sony Super LCD screen...its meant to be as good as amoled and it wont eat as much of your battery life

Found a review video on youtube about the HTC Desire , nothing new except the screen is SLCD (says so in the Description :rolleyes:)

well nothing else is meant to be new beside the screen thats why they stopped shipping them cause they had no amoled screens
