wait, you learned a "good chunk" of the list above outside school?? Loads of kids get reading writing and maths outside school, as well as swimming and socialising, blah blah blah.
As for wood work and tech etc

But I guess you don't seem to have learned the social skills too well eh??

ehh no you stop your renegading bull , i learnt a good bit in school but wasnt near half of it !!! it was all pointless sh*t , i took in what i needed and what would be usefull to me!!! some people can have all the brains in the worldl and be smart but they wouldnt have a head on their shoulders , they wouldnt have common knowledge , wouldnt be street smart , school doesnt show you how to deal with the real life situations that lie out side of school!!! half of the scrap they fill you with is useless , yes they maybe facts,history and things but i learnt my history of my country through my patriotic family and read bias/ non- bias books on events etc, and knew a good bit about the world in books i read when at home just watching tele!!! you have no right to say if someone is stupid , they could be hell of alot smarter than what you would be in situations that school never thought you to deal with !! yes school did teach every bod to read, write etc ,but after that the rest is just knowledge and facts !!!!!

it depends on the person imo. there is no doubt in my mind that school does waste the time of many children, but its also a necessary tool for a child to have completed in order to live in the world thats been shaped for them to grow into.

some children who are naturally creative, artistic and or prefer a more hands on approach, can so easily get left behind and shunned in order to dedicate more time to children that are naturally more suited to book learning. they too do deserve time, but if from an early age these talents could be spotted and nurtured, then these children could be seperated and offered an alternative route, also meaning the more academic children are in smaller classes.
