not sure what is pvp, maybe you mean pmp (Portable media player)

Depends what your price range is, what size screen you want...
Ipod touch is excellent PMP , but no support for mkv. Anyway, new model is coming out in September.

If Apple stuff is not your cup of tea i would recommend checking http://mp4nation.net
