Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When you create the document save it as a read-only document thus preventing any changes to the document - including setting of a password.

thanks for the reply. unfortunately not an option though as the users still need to be able to edit files, just not lock others out.. having checked it out it doesnt look like its possible to do exactly what i need.

If its not too many files, could you put the passwords on them. So you override other people applying password and not giving anybody passwords to access said files.

How about a polite email saying "Don't ****ing password files."?

Put the document on a network share with read-only access, which 1 person (john) has access to for write permission. Anyone who edits the doc can email it to john who can substitute the file. Or have another shared folder with write permission, for uploads.

Downside - possible synchronisation (?) issues where X reads doc, Y reads doc, X updates, Y updates without X's updates.
