    Just wondering if you know anyone that has appealed results what do they rise by when they do?

    They don't have to rise at all, do remember that they can actually drop (though that's not very common) or stay the same (very common). On average, about 20% of appeals were upgraded last year (with obvious variations among individual subjects).

    It would be very very unusual to see a jump of more than one grade, and would suggest very unusual circumstances ... perhaps a mark for project work not included in the total, or something like that.

    Some figures for last year, though it doesn't actually give details of the extent of upgrades.

    Best piece of advice: before deciding to appeal, view your papers in the company of a teacher, preferably someone who is an examiner themselves.
