Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The 85mm is nice, and it's interesting to see the bump in the ISO -makes me more impatient for the D90 replacement, which is rumoured to have the ISO performance of the D700!

Ah the long awaited 85 1.4 replacement. Hopefully all those characters with more money than sense will rush out to buy this now because it has AFS OMG loike and a G lens noway ! And dump their older AFDs on the used market where I can finally pick one up for a reasonable price :-)

Actually, just getting a chance to look through the rest of them there as well, that 24->120 looks super sweet. With that f/4 wide they released last year it looks like nikon has finally seen sense and decided to duplicate those canon fixed f/4 zooms. If that lens holds up quality wise (and the last comparable one wasn't the best) then it'll be pretty tempting ... if it wasn't a G lens of course.

    Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

Would really like a camera that can take video, but after playing with a D5000 I'd feel like I'm taking a step down from my D80 to this. I found the D5000 has a much cheaper and amateur feel compared to my D80. I'd also miss being able to focus with with my nifty fifty, which will mean that gets left in my bag most of the time.

Ideally I'd go for the D95, but that is probably going to be about €1200, will be next year before I can get that together.

Realistically the D3100 can probably do everything I could possibly need with the lack of focus motor being the only real problem and a big part of my wanting for the D95 comes just cause its there and better.

Think I might just get a D3100 once we start seeing some reviews. Thanks guys for all your help in making this decision :D

I'm happy out with my d300 for now....it does everything that I need and probably a lot more too. Next big purchase from me will be an ultra long zoom, something like the latest Bigma 50-500mm or 170-500mm. Just wondering if the OS versions will be worth the extra €'s.
