PP let you pick whatever games you want online, Ladbrokes I'm not so sure of. In store you can only pick whats on the sheet in Ladbrokes so I'd go for PP.

    New Bank - 104.45pts

Bets for this weekends English stuff...

    Man City @ 4/6 - 2pts vs. Wolves

    Everton @ 4/7 - 4pts vs. Stoke

    Cardiff @ 3/4 - 5pts vs. Norwich

    QPR @ 4/6 - 3pts. vs. Burnley

    Watford @ 11/5 - 1.5pts vs. Derby

    Southampton @ 13/10 - 2pts vs. Notts Co.

    Notts Forest @ 21/10 - 1.5 pts vs. Portsmouth

    Treble:
    Everton, Cardiff and QPR - 2pts @ 4.95

    Total Staked: 21pts.

As you might have noticed, gone for a few sides who missed out on playing in the Carling Cup this year. Stoke will only have had one days training before their game at Goodison and with Jones and Pennant struggling, they'll find it tough to come away with Everton who are finally hitting their true form. Man City are just a better squad than Wolves. Wolves had a strong outfit out against Man Utd midweek but I think the week off after the Arsenal game will have done City the world of good. They've had a few struggles this week with Santa Cruz opening up to the press and Given and a few of the boys going on the lash in Scotland, but I'm sure Mancini will have settled things behind closed doors. Wolves are finding it tough this season. Doyle hasn't found much form and is blighted by injury at the moment and at the back, they're open for business.

One thing I've noticed the last while is that QPR and Cardiff are still great prices in the Championship, even on their home turf. These are two sides who are 13/8 and 2/1 respectively to win the title. So effectively, the prices you're getting on a match to match basis are almost as close to their antepost odds. Leeds showed against Cardiff that there is pretty big gap between the two leaders and those who achieved promotion last season from League 1. Granted, Norwich have been flying this year but Cardiff are a class above IMO. Burnley haven't won away from home this year - almost a continuation on last year and that trend is set to continue at Loftus Road.

More accum's may be put up in the coming days..

I think it's good value really. Everton are coming strong again after a shocking start and I think the break midweek will stand them in great stead compared to Stoke. Cardiff and QPR are a level above most sides in the Championship at the minute too. Three home sides is always a good way to go too.

Bloody dodgy referee decision cost me the QPR bet and the treble that would have put me in th profit for the day. Still, considering some of the upsets - not an overall terrible day.

Bit late to be replying to you but my money is now with the bookies! Another poor weekend, some really bad results. Annoyed that I didn't go with my gut and do Bolton +1 and QPR at home to reading. But meh, will try make the breakthrough next week.

Ok time to reawaken this thread...

I've decided I need to make some money give the situation we're living in at the minute and my own personal needs (or perhaps read 'greed').. so I'm going to change this up a little bit and make this an all-sports thread.

New starting bank of €250, going to cover a wide variety of markets including the dangerous spread betting (albeit small stakes). I'll attempt to turn that €250 into €2,500 by February 26. That's going to be hard going but god loves a trier.

So we may aswell get started:

    Sporting Index: Birmingham/West Ham: Total Goals - Buy 2.75 - €10
Sporting Index: B/WH: First Match Goal- Sell 37 - €1
    Sporting Index: Murray/Dolgopolov - Sell total games 35 - €2
Powers: Andy Murray - 5.5 games and Federer -1.5 games - €20 double @ Evs

Will add some horse bets in the morning along with a few GAA ones too.

Couple of races tomorrow I'm getting early prices for on Betfair:

    2.45 Huntingdon:
    Mr Moonshine 22.0 (win) x €3, 6.2 (tbp) x €5
    I've Been Framed 16.0 (win) x €2; 4.5 (tbp) x €4
    Pocketwood 17.0 (win) x €2; 5.4 (tbp) x €4
    Total placed on race: €20

    3.35 Musselborough
    Tyrone House 3.8 (win) x €5
    County Colours 8.6 (win) x €3, 2.52 (tbp) x €4
    Total Placed on race: €12

Total staked: €52 (on exchanges and with bookmakers); €13 (on spread betting with liability of more).

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

Mixed feelings about Murray's game. My double is still rolling onto Federer but lost €18 on the spread bet so it pretty much negates any profit from the double should it come up.

Time to hit the bookies for the day me thinks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

Get in there Mr Moonshine!! Super result. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

Tyrone House follows up with a win to add to the profit for the day. Full stats to follow after the football and tennis.

Deeeelighted with the picks so far.. :D

Thelobstercatcher goes in to win the 3.25 at Warwick for €69.20 return and is followed in by Deep Pockets to claim some place money - €13.2.

The rest of the horses were pretty much duds but my inkling about Roma beating Juventus was good.

Federer let me down for my even money double with Murray but you'll have that!

Total staked: €69(inc. stake for tennis double lost)
    Total returns: €148.40

Apologies, got work and a hell of a lot of other things on there the last few days.

    Time for an update:

Bloody Murray, couldn't just lost another set against Ferrer could he! I probably would have lumped on Djokovic though in the final if I was around but alas..

Mostly Bob won handily enough to give me some consolation..

    Old bank: €444.90
    Staked: €-50
    Returns: €32.40
    New Bank: €427.30

Total staked for today and the weekend is €185.

Will put up some football bets for the weekend after a bit once I get a look at them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

Some near misses with Skorcher being outclassed by Bishopsfurze to finish in second place - return of €15. Krypton Factor with Fallon on board comes in second also at 17/2 - returns €10.80. At least my nap came in with Mahbooba doing the business at EVS - return of €60.

Anything from the next couple of races in Clonmel and Wincanton is now clear profit. Will see how it goes!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

Current bank: €387.80 (with €80 in play).

Ashton did the business for me in the rugby with the all important first try and in the equine side of things I've just broken even which is a result given my picking these days! One half of my rugby double is up also so will see how it goes.

JB Holmes is playing massive stuff at the minute and currently leads in Phoenix so hopefully my 49/1 punt isn't wasted. The rest are lagging behind a bit.

Will add a few football bets later on tonight aswell as my thoughts on the big races tomorrow.
