Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A lot of people thought he was going to be a big player for Liverpool for years. Seemed to have everything needed to be a premiership winger. Loaned to Coventry for a year and won their Player of the Year, came back to Liverpool just as Rafa took over, released at the end of that season. Spells at Sheff Wednesday, Rotherham, Chester City, MK Dons, Kettering Town(Loan) and now at Stockport County. Still only 30.

Brillant in Champioship Manager 00/01<iirc?> - which added to that...

    Francesco Coco

Tipped as "The Next Paolo Maldini" by every and their mother after his debut for A.C. Milan in 1995 at the age of 18 he was a very promising left back. He has pace, technique, great crossing and read the game extremely well (probably the best debut season by a teenage defender since Maldini in the 80's and only Davide Santon at Inter has replicated it since). Everything looked like it was going to be perfect for Coco. Between injuries, being loaned out and being a little prick Coco only played in 56 games for Milan in 7 years and at the age of 25 was traded to Inter as part of the deal that brought Clarence Seedorf to Milan. In 5 years at inter he played 26 games for the first team as injuries and his partying saw him pushed to the fringes of the team and loaned to smaller clubs. He retired 3 years ago at the age of 30 to persue a career in acting, which has, by all accounts, not gone very well.

Now runs a chain of retail out lets with his father and owns a clothing line called Urban 77 and is still a very well known celebrity figure in the Italian media.

Actually, just on Coco, theres a site that lists the 100 hottest WAGS, and who they are associated with.

Lets just say, Francesco has done some amount of scoring for a left back.

    1. Finidi George

    3. Tijani Babangida
    4. Sunday Oliseh
    5. Celestine Babayaro
    6. Jay Jay Okocha

Keith Gillespie- Played for Man United and Newcastle and fell away after that...
He'll always be famous for this though :D

Gillespie, a one time Northern Ireland international, played a role in helping his new team get promotion to the Premiership. During his stay there was a colourful incident when he came on as a substitute in a game against Reading and was sent off after just 12 seconds.

    Christian Bassedas

In 2000 he joined English Premier League side Newcastle United for £3,500,000. He played for them in the period 2000–2003
In 2003 he joined Argentine Newell's Old Boys, but after two months of pre-season training he decided to retire from football at the age of 30.
Last seen managing a club in 2008 Vélez Sársfield (not as head coach, just simply a link between the team and directors etc)

    Michael Bridges

Was supposed to be a future star striker but injuries cursed him.
I remember the day we signed him and I was thinking a young Shearer..how fúcking wrong was I.
Now playing for Newcastle United Jets in Oz.

    Patrick Kluivert
Retired at 32 years of age due to being a lazy fúcker and crap attitude.
Really talented footballer who player for Ajax/Milan/Barcelona/Newcastle/Valenica/PSV/Lille.
Remember him scoring 3 goals in a World Cup match for Holland at his peak and he was only about 24 or so.
Since leaving Barcelona he never stayed at one club for more than one season due to his attitude etc and injuries.
I wouldn't mind but he's still the leading goalscore for the Netherlands to date.
On 24 January 2010, Kluivert agreed to a two week coaching stint with A-League side Brisbane Roar

    Ah yes what a player.

Jon Harley. Product of the Chelsea youth academy he seemed to be the answer to Englands problem left back position back in 99/00. Some excellent displays for Chelsea where he also showed a linking for 20+ yard crackers, couldn't hold down a regular first team place and eventually ended up at Notts County via Sheffield, Fulham, Burnley and West Ham.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but thought of a great one today.

Mads Timm, very promising Danish Manchester United youth player, spent 12 months in a young offenders institute for a driving offense. Eventually moved back to Demark with Odense.

Now retired aged 25, due to injuries and lack of motivation.

Anyone know anything about John Connoly? Apparently he won Irish Young Player of the Year back in 91, some big names around him, but never heard of him.
