Does completing the quests for factions in anyway advance the main quest? Im kind of exploring all over and wary of quests in case i advance it too much. I only went to where Boone is last night, don’t really want to advance the main quest line to much without having completed more or less faction quests.

Games unreal though, want to do more or less everything in my first play through!

Entered Tops Casino last night, after ignoring Benny's chat I took on him and his gang with a pair of knuckle dusters.
I quickly gulped some Jet, Buffout, Med-X and Pyscho and slaughtered them!

The journey from Novac to New Vegas was a little boring. Despite zigzagging to points of interest, I found very little to fight, except for a few fire geckos on top of a hill!

Suppose it made the casino fight a little more satisfying!

Me too but I had slightly different approach:

If you talk to Swank at the entrance to the casino you can get him to send Benny up to his room. From here you can just take him out on his own.

Come on lads, where are the spoiler tags?

They're there to be used when needed. I'm not too sensitive about spoilers really, but I do get a little annoyed when reading some posts here that haven't been spoilered and probably should.

Nope, not many main quests 8 maybe? . side quests only give you fame or infamy at some point you still have to make a choice and its well sign posted so to speak.

Right so currently i have only chatted to Boone and the dialogue that goes with him, don’t want to give to much away in case people arent there yet. So if i choose to do all factions quests and not look for who shot me any further, this wont advance the game?

Grand so! Id like to go see Vegas but im a bit worried if i barge in there il end up cutting quests out!

I wanted to help the NCR in this play through but i messed it up. Seems the battle for

, doesn't just contain the NCR and the Legion but also

See on this play through i wanted to do everything good.... so i said to myself the chip belongs to

After doing a few parts the next thing i know i get blocked out of doing either

NCR or Legion

quests stating they know i'm working against them.

So now i just have the end ahead of me, i'm going to get through it and restart again as i messed up the direction i wanted to take. Suppose if you want to side with the NCR or Legion read what i have in spoilers up there, it's not really a spoiler just shows there is a 3rd not so obvious option in the war

Man, these nightkin are really pissing me off, cant even do VATS on them because even when i shoot them there still invisble

Best to avoid them until later in the game. I did a tiny bit down south and decided i wanted to go to Vegas so i didn't encounter them until i was near L.20 plus i had a companion and tbh i didn't have any problem with them as they don't even have armour.

Explosives to the legs followed by a swift bullet or 6 to the temple usually does the trick for me

Finally found a way around fighting them, thank god for that!

Jeez, even with this energy weapon boosting mod I have, Deathclaws are seriously powerful.

Hmmm wonder what I have that makes them visible in VATS even if they are cloaked? Maybe thats why I find them easy to kill

The main quests are fairly obvious but you can go past one by meeting and doing certain things ie you get quest failed messages for quests your not even on that just means you cant do that quest.

Massive spoiler and only really a reply to gilberto

done 4 endings and i dont think you can end out as the good guy no matter who side with, its the lesser of evils kind of thing. UNless DLC brings in a followers style ending where they rule with your power then you cant imo actually do good. I want a BOS/Followers rule the world style DLC with veronica as president and BOS as her army

I've a mission to bring the robot "Ed-E" to a scrapyard, but when i go to where he is, the only options are to try to repair him, or let him be. I don't have the skills yet to repair him, so how do i bring him to the scrapyard?

I think you can repair him with parts, I think I might have used a science +10 book also.

Repair him hes the best companion of the lot. if you cant it will ask you to get 3 spare parts needed.

I repaired Ed-E and have him as a companion but the quest to bring him to Gibson scrapyard is still active. Is it supposed to be still active?

Yes.

The quest to bring him to the scrap yard is followed by a quest to do with how he ended up broken or something along those lines.

I've had a lot of problems with Ed-E. I'll spoiler this, but it's mainly reporting a kind of bug with his quest.

I brought him to the scrapyard. You're meant to activate the quest by talking to the woman there. But I already had spoken to her and so none of the conversation choices were there any more. I had to look up what to do and found another person to go to and then was kind of left with little idea on how to complete the quest (I could of read the rest of the walkthrough, but didn't want to spoil it)

. It's a bit sh*tty that such an obvious bug wasn't noticed before.

And after all that, while I was sneaking past the deathclaws, Ed-E decided to charge them and got torn to pieces. And being on hardcore, no amount of duct tape was going to bring him back.

I found that bullets had no effect on them,so I beat them to a pulp with a rebar bar .
