May seem like a stupid question but.... how do you get the mods ? Are they only for xbox ../

No they are for the pc. You have to download them and then put them into a certain folder.

Why is it that wearing ranger armour reduces my status with the NCR from accepted to neutral? Seems pretty darn weird.

Have you repaired it with armour belonging to a faction the NCR dislike? I think I recall a thread on gamefaqs attributing the cause to this.

Finally finished it last night, just in time for Black Ops :D
Finished it helping the NCR. Quite less action than I was expecting after trying the Independent path first and getting murdered at the Hoover Dam. Ending scenes played out quite like I was expecting, apart from something about Vault Powder Gangers? I never even saw them in the game. Final play time clocked at 54 hours....and not one deathclaw during that whole time :(

    I'm after getting the
    explorer
    perk. Which
shows ALL of the locations on your map
, so I'm making it my mission to visit all of them before I finish the game. Hit level 30 there about 5 hours ago and still feel the urge to keep exploring.

Thats a must tbh, i have 7 left but have finished the game in a few different ways. Didnt like any of the endings didnt suit my:
    Helper of BOS
    Murdering bastard
    Hero to the people
    Murdering bastard of legion
    Murdering bastard of NCR

Feel the makers knew anyone who played F3 would side with a certain faction and then find they were not sideable in the grand scheme of things. Kinda ruined it for me the biggest flaw was that they didnt have any sort of win in the end. DLC better sort that.
    BOS4LIFE

Also felt that the game didnt cater to my murderous ability,
i went into the fort at level 30 and wiped everything out at every point the game and people in it say Legion/NCR is to strong but in all honestly no amount of troops can stop a level 20+ murdering machine with perks and Boone and EDE

And at no point did i think any thing wasnt murderable, maybe it was familiarity with F3 but seriously everythings dead. I killed everything :D

I got that perk yesterday and kind of regret it because I think half the fun of the game was accidentally finding places and having to explore them.

Yeah I had the choice of that one last level up and opted for something else for those reasons.

its on the way walk in a straight line from helios to forlorn and you will find them
    Thanks
Had walked the opposite direction and I think I
walked past them on the other side of the rock they are near
. And then I had it in my head that the quest giver had said
they would be on the main roads,
so spent hours walking them and couldn't find them, hence I figured wiping out the ncr from helios 1 before getting the quest screwed something up

    Thanks again.

    Brought Cass along and
killed the Van Graffs last night - lots of nice energy weapons to loot.

Anyone know who will give me training to wear the BoS armour?

Also - Rex disappeared from where I told him wait last night. Any idea how to get him back? He didn't go back to the Kings or anything. Bug perhaps?

The BoS will train you to wear their armor. They can be found in the
hidden valley. There are 4 bunkers there. They can be found in the one to the west when you fast travel there. It has a broken tree on top. One way of gaining entry to the BoS bunker is by having Veronica with you who can be found at the 188 trading post. Or you could have a lockpick of 100 to get in.
Just after finishing that mission there and am now allowed to wear the armor.

Went into the School of Impersonation there last night too, and when I went in there, Rex came running out of the room and passed by me. He was running back to the Lucky 38. Despite me telling him to go back there a few hours playtime beforehand. Try going in there and seeing if he shows up. Either that, or try the lucky 38.

Can you be more specific? I'm about to return with the parts for their Air Filtration System.

Since the game is out a couple of weeks now, anyone got a good list of some good mods out there that are tried and tested. Ones that improve the niggling issues (UI changes etc). Not the ones that are game changing. There was a few suggested earlier in the thread. Anyone gotten updated ones or better ones.

Besides Fellout suggested before, I would suggest:
d3d9 Fix for NVidia cards or Ati cards (they seem to really help with stuttering and lag in the games.)
FOOK (Fixes loads of things: typos, most equipment that should be able to repair each other now can, stuff like that)
Inventory sorters (Just organises things in the AID section in the inventory better, things are sorting according to food, aid, magazines, books etc, makes it much easier to find things)
MTUI (Changes all the font sizes in all the menus to better suit 1024x768 or higher resolutions, get rid of stupid console size menu screens :))
New Vegas Reanimated and Fallout 3 Walking Running Animations Restored (Fixes buggy movement/prone animations, use together for best results)
There is also one I'm using called "Community Bug Fix Compilation Patch" which combines a load of quest bug fixes into one mod (does some stuff that FOOK does, so make sure to read the install notes so there isn't conflicts if you install both), I cant get the link to the file at the moment though (its on the same site as above, its just not open at the moment-probably being updated.)
If you are going to install a good few mods, you will probably want the mod manager too.

Also check out Better Game Performance (supposed to remove totally non essential items like useless books and small rocks to help game run better), DOF (gives depth of view, ie things far away look fuzzy, makes game look better) and Sprint mod (Adds sprint function, you use Action Points to sprint, how much you are carrying effects speed. Changes gameplay slightly, but is quite well balanced and is quite welcome after ages spent barely jogging across the desert). I only just installed these three mods myself, so I dont know how big of an effect they give (sprint mod does exactly what it says on the tin though).

You should get another quest after that one. complete than and you'll have the option to join and recieve training.

If you can't find him @ 38 casino or want im back in a hurry just enter the lift in vault 22 , I lost veronica and this got her back for me so I could dismiss her.

One the best games ever played but also the buggiest, a sign of really bad quality and greed that they rush it out without ironing out the bugs, heard on PC it flawless

Just got patched to the latest version and now every enemy I kill is unconscious instead of dead. Great bug for getting xp, but still.
Anybody else having the same problem
This is on the PC version btw

Same here, it doesn't seem to be every enemy though. I was able to kill some Glowing Ones but others just went unconscious, similar story with some cazadores. Very annoying.

Edit: Quitting and reloading seems to have fixed it.

I have had that happening to me as well; got chased by a number of Bark Radscorpians who. just. wouldn't. die.

Ah lads, it's stopped being funny for me now, I've been trying to progress the story for the last week but am being lured away on side quest after side quest.

Talk about getting my monies worth. I haven't even completed ring-a-ding-ding yet and I'm now 60 hours in :)

Think I need a GP to check me fro OCD :D

    ,heard on PC it flawless

Played it last night for about three/four hours on PC. I had approximately a dozen crashes. Brilliant it is while its running well, but flawless it ain't.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but it's pretty damned frustrating so if anyone knows what I can do let me know
Just finished the BOS quest installing the transmitter on black mountain, but when I got back to McNamara I don't even get dialogue options, just 'I'm too busy preparing to deal with Hardin' same from Hardin. Can't finish the quest, which means I'm not continuing with the main quest either. Not good.

Is there not another part of that quest?

Nope, it's all done but going back and reporting it.

Is there any way to stop my companion (Boone) from running off and engaging enemies as soon as I they appear on my radar?

Also, is the Come Fly With Me quest difficult for a level 8 character + Boone?
I'm about to go to the basement and I've heard bad things about Nightkin.
