It was mainly EDGE's review that put me off (http://www.next-gen.biz/features/fallout-new-vegas-review). I haven't heard anyone else moaning too much I suppose. Thanks for the input :D

I'm kind of tempted to start the game through again. My reasons being..... I kinda got lost in the whole mission structure leading up to the finale. I'm kinda a completionist/OCD kinda player when it suites me. If I'm really into it, then I tend to keep on going. And this happened with Fallout New Vegas. I tried to complete everything and before I knew it I had
recruited/Cleaned up the Great Kahns, the White Glove Society/Gomorrah as well as the Boomers all for the Yes Man line of quests, even though I was wanting to side with the NCR. I had gotten about half way through the NCR equivalent quest and just started investigating the Legion side of things before I realized that I had recruited the factions mentions above for the wrong side. Maybe I wasn't following things closely enough but I dont think they laid out my options very well. The quests in the pipboy were way to confusing to follow which quest for Yes Man equated to the one for the NCR

I kind wanna start over, knowing where most of the locations/items might spoil it for me. I spent almost 70 hours in my first playthough and I could have spent more but I was so far into the
    Yes Man
quests that I decided to finish it.

90+ hours and I still haven't committed and only just got the strip story quests to chose from :( And you think you have OCD :) Guess I should just pick one and run with it then reload 3 more times from a save at this point.

Yes, I'm unemployed and getting my monies worth :)

Edit: everyone likes me or accepts me except
the powdergangers who have mattered like 75 hours ago.

Just started this, played for around an hour. It's all very similar to number 3, not really impressed so far. I'll stick with it though.

Getting towards the end myself. Have a save done just before it branches off into what faction to follow. ayways it'd want to be the end, had to restart the Ps3 3 times last night, i've just about reached my threshold with the crashes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,559 ✭✭✭blaze1

had my first major crash last nite, was going out to the observation deck at helios...

btw every time i leave the main helios base to go the observation deck the game trips right out loads of banging & jumpy glitches.. this happen to any one else?

while i think of it the crash reminded me of when the box got the rrod... hope thats not the case!

Nope, I found it mostly OK, and I did it at level 17 or 18. You might be better off using something like a 10mm sub machine gun or an assault carbine though. Vaults are very close range generally, and something like a sniper rifle, while high damage, still only allows you to get off one, or at a push two shots in VATS.

What's a gobi sniper and where do I get it?

Also, in Vault 34 I brought Arcade with me. Useless ****. Left, went back and got Boone and tore the place up!

Its a special sniper rifle. You can get it at the
snipers nest weapon locker but youl need 100 lockpick

Just after finally making my way through 34. Never been so glad to make it out of a vault!! God dam rads!!

It's a tough one alright, I found it very intense - and a bit of a slog. Even though it's only one rad per second, it does lend a nice bit of tension and a sense of a ticking-clock to the whole thing. Nice pay off at the end though in the Armory.

Finally making my way towards New Vegas at last after hanging around the NCR camps doing odd jobs. Yea, loving the game now.

Went to one NCR camp to drop off Comm codes when Boone opened fire on one of them for no reason, all hell broke loose and I just barely got away. Everyone in the camp must've came after me because when I returned to their camp a while later the place was empty bar a dead NCR body..........presumably the guy Boone didn't like.

Came across those wierd green mutant things that hang by the lake and got my ass handed to me, Boone saved my ass just as one was about to deliver a final blow to me.

Only problem I'm having, which I think was fixed in the 3rd update but I haven't installed it yet, is the Cowboy Repeater. I have to fully load the gun everytime I whip it out and have to wait 5 seconds before the gun will fire. Useless when in a sticky situation but I love the damn gun when it works.

Had to quit last night when I released the long walk I've ahead of me to New Vegas and the amount of quests feels like I've still only scratched the surface of the game. Gonna need some beer and smokes for a busy weekend :D

    It's a tricky one alright.

You have to open the door via the console in the Administrator's office. And you can only get there by going into the underwater parts and searching around for various terminal passwords, etc.

    Full walkthrough here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault_34

Anyone care to post pics of their adventures? :D

This is my current guy I'm using, majoring in Guns and all the other neccessary skills

    Take THAT! (heh, geddit?)

Gonna sport a .308 to Chief Hanlon when he finishes yapping. Oh wait...

    Doing Stand-up

    Little JIMMY!

Btw the armour is from Mods, so you can't get them in the Vanilla version. Mixed and matched various bits to suit my character style

Thats some nice armour, what mods you using?are you using fraps to take the pics?

I know the dlc for the xbox is out 21st december but is there any release date yet for pc?

The Helmet and Pauldrons are from a mod called " Reinforced Chinese Stealth Armour " and the facewrap + overalls etc are from a mod called " Dark Mercenary Gear ". Both (and many more mods) can be downloaded from NewVegasNexus.com

I didn't use the full Reinforced Chinese Stealth Armour for the character because it's a bit overpowered (With the stealth field etc) but thought the Helmet + Pauldrons looked cool with the Dark Mercenary Armour (it's basically NCR Vet Armour but it's black)

You can take screenshots in-game by pressing 'Print Screen' and it saves them in your New Vegas folder main directory

Just got this game, tried Fallout 3 on the Xbox and it drove me mad for some reason but I'm liking this so far. Wouldn't say I'm loving it but it's slowly growing on me.

Finally finished the game today after 105 hours  (Still going back for the other 3 endings)

Anyone who hasn't finished, I say take your time no rush to get there as it's all about the journey there. Glad I took my time with it after that ending
Did the Yes man arc , seemed to be the ''good'' ending to me but time will tell once i've done the others.

Question to those who took other routes there, was the
burning man mentioned by the legion featured or developed
or will it be like I expect a DLC ?

with the missions for the bos..

    both vault 22 and 34 (i think)
i ran out of 34 after getting in to the armoury and ransacking it thinking that i picked up the prototype only to get outside and realise it wasnt checked off... I couldnt go back in, rads were too high and no more radaway or stimpacks... on deaths door, so ive had to go back to vegas and restock
    :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
