The content is not described in full detail on this page. For details, please see the respective articles.

    Pre-order bonusesEdit
Players pre-ordering Fallout: New Vegas from selected retailers were granted access to special pre-order bonus packs, containing exclusive equipment to make the earlier stages of the game easier. The list of bonus packs is as follows:
    Caravan Pack
    Classic Pack
    Mercenary Pack
    Tribal Pack
    Dead MoneyEdit
    Main article: Dead Money
Dead Money was first hinted via in-game graffiti. The textures for these graffiti are in a folder in the game files called "nvdlcgraffiti", and all the textures share the filename "nvgraffitisierra".
Dead Money was released on December 21, 2010 for Xbox 360 and will be released for Playstation 3 and PC on February 22, 2011. It raised the level cap to 35 and added new achievements and new perks.[1]

Dead money's history centers around a forgotten Pre-war casino called the Sierra Madre (Mother mountain range in Spanish) and a Brotherhood of steel ex-elder, Father Elijah who captures the Courier and other characters forcing them to find a hidden treasure within the villa.

    Honest HeartsEdit
    Main article: Honest Hearts

Also in the "nvdlcgraffiti" folder are a number of other textures, sharing the filename "nvgraffitihonesthearts". These read:
    "Where's New Canaan, anyway?"
    "The Burned Man Walks!"
    "Joshua Graham Lives!"
The existence of Honest Hearts as a future DLC was seemingly confirmed when it was found on January 7th that the name had been registered as a trademark by ZeniMax.
    Old World BluesEdit
    Main article: Old World Blues
Unlike the other add-ons, virtually nothing is known about Old World Blues. Given the amount of references dropped to the Big Empty being a treasure trove of old world technology in Dead Money, it is possible that this DLC will feature a return to the location scrapped during the development of Black Isle's canceled Fallout 3.
    Lonesome RoadEdit
    Main article: Lonesome Road
Little is known about this DLC so far, except that it is likely to explore the Courier's backstory, based on comments made by Johnson Nash.
The phrase "Lonesome Road" was first seen on graffiti at the canyon wreckage, in close proximity to graffiti reading "Courier 6?", "the Divide", "You Can Go Home Now Courier" and several figures resembling a backwards '6'. After heavy hints dropped in Dead Money, the author of this graffiti is now believed to be Ulysses.

Additionally, in one of Dog's endings for Dead Money it is stated that:

"The new voice did not think of the Courier again until the battle at the Divide reached his ears. The battle between the two couriers, beneath the torn skies and the Old World flag... each bearing a message for the other. And the mutant prayed the Courier that had saved him... had been saved in return."
For this reason, it is thought that the final DLC will feature a showdown between the player character and Ulysses.
    Future add-onsEdit
So far, only four DLC's have been confirmed to be in development, however the second shelf in the Lucky 38 Presidential Suite has five spaces for snowglobes.
According to one video game news blog[2], a source "close to Bethesda Softworks" spoke to journalists on condition of anonymity, saying that four DLC's other than Dead Money were in development as of December 2010, with two others being considered, which if approved would make for a total of seven add-ons for release over the next two years.

Of the four DLC's planned for release after Dead Money, the source was said to have stated that the Courier has a "relationship" with Ulysses, and that the nature of the relationship would surprise players. He also said that a future DLC would add an area to the game that players "likely thought they would never see", as well as "a personality [from] Fallout 3".

Jason Bergman has stated that one thing that will not be appearing in a DLC is the ability to extend the game past the ending[3], á la Broken Steel, despite popular speculation.

When announcing the release date for Dead Money for PlayStation 3 and PC, it was also announced that future add-ons would be released on all three platforms simultaneously.[4]

Well that's everything I could get on it . We have dead money plus 4 other confirmed and 2 confirmed . Even without the 2 unconfirmed that's still one more dlc than fallout 3 so I'm a happy camper

Little disappointed we won't ever go past the current story line though only so much back story you can cover :(

Just as a word of warning without ruining anything, just always wear an Old Cowboy Hat when entering the Strip through the main gate.

Care to explain why? Not something I heard of myself. Should probably use a spoiler tag if so.

The need for this this should have been well and truly patched out, it was a work around to the the game sh!tting it self when you entered the strip.

Ah no I meant the game literally sh!t itself, it was a major game breaking glitch on release for some. But has since been patched. I wasn't to do with getting in for free or anything.

now this might have been covered before i dont know, and with 1688 post to go through i must admit i am quite lazy.

basically i broke the game for myself. i was on a quest where i needed to talk to liza o'malley for a mission for the NCR. i walked into the building where she was before i took or started the mission and talked to her. exhausted all possible talking options with her and couldnt say anything new. i then got the mission and was told to talk to liza. she had nothing new for me and would only say goodbye.

because of this i couldnt continue the main story line and had to restart

anyone else run into this bug? did you have to restart too?

If you are playing on a PC there are ways to reinitialise quest conversations with NPCs. I've never done that quest
(I think it can avoided by dealing with Pacer instead)
but I did have similar problems rescuing Anders for Jack and Diane and got around it using the console.

i ehard you could on the PC but AFAIK and from the snippets i have read if this happens on PS3 or Xbox then your screwed. not 100% but it made me restart anyway.

44 hours into my power drive of fallout right now . doing absolutely everything i can seeing everything and anything i can fighting all the fights and cross working the factions . i did a certain amount of quests for ncr and ceasers legion but had to stop because ncr was preparing to brand me a terrorist and ceasers legion a traitor .
so diced house and have yes man set up in the lucky 38
and am going to make sure i do ever other quest i can before i continue . making sure i hold onto a save file so i can go back and do the dlc when they're released. man its a lot of work

Only just started playing this the other day but so far my initial response is that I prefer Fallout 3...Guess i'll just have to keep plugging away at it and see if my attitude changes when I make a bit of progress :D

Hey, I searched the thread but I'm still unsure on what to do. I've been playing this on PC for about 40 hours and I've just gotten to the strip. I'm in the Ultra-Lux and I can't move for the amount of crashes that keep happening. Looking at a tile on the floor the wrong way, talking to people... everything causes a crash! I can't get out of the damn building >_<

Any advice for me? My PC is well able to play the game and I have no mods installed. Thanks for the replies in advance!

Latest patches installed? Did it freeze/glitch at the weapons check when you entered? If so thats permanent. Did you do anything related to the Beyond the Beef quest line there? Are you at the the steam room area?

One thing you can try is to dismiss any companions and let them go back to the lucky 38.

If you have an earlier save even better dismiss them before you enter.

Edit: Check this scroll to the bottom to avoid spoilers for the Beyond the Beef quests, http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Beyond_the_Beef it has a list of most of the bugs and some work arounds.

I have done both of these! Seems this mission is pretty badly fudged or something? Does sending my companion away get rid of her forever?

Has anyone noticed the New Vegas Launcher staying running sometimes when using FOMM? It only happens occasionally but it causes a severe performance hit on the game. Good thing Alt-Tab works properly for a change.

Sending my companion back to the lucky 38 worked a treat thankfully. I'm back exploring the wasteland again.

However if I hear the NPC phrase "Patrolling the mojave almost makes me wish for a nuclear winter" once more I'm going to blow my awesome Karma rating and rip them up with a power fist. :P

Might try some of the mods mentioned in this thread, seems like there's a good modding community for this game.

    I'm a bit frustrated,I'm doing the quest
    return to sender
    and I'm looking for
    ranger station foxtrot
and I can't seem to get to it because theres mountains in the way and I keep getting attacked by these wasp like insects and I'm out of antivemon .

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

Ah yeah I was confused about this one too. You need to get onto that path that's north of where you are now and follow it as it veers off left into the mountains. Walk up that way for about 5 minutes and you'll see the communication tower on your left, off the beaten track. Lots of bighorners to murder accidentally shoot up that way too, 55 exp for each one I think!

PS: handy tip for the Cazadors, in V.A.T.S. (or if you're a crack shot!) cripple either of their wings. They then have to walk towards you at a fairly pathetic speed, easy pickings! PROTIP: if you want to be super cruel, cripple their legs too /evil
