Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I finished my second year of college and decided not to go back in september. I went in to sign up for jobseekers allowance and they said I needed a letter from the college stating that im not going back. But the college said they can't be sure im not going back until I don't register. But thats not until the end of september. I really need to sing up for jobseekers now because I need to pay off some bills and can't wait until the end of september. Any advice on how to speed things up please.

    Sean

If you sat end of year exams you will not be entitled to the dole because you are disqualified from claiming.

Third level students between academic years who sit summer examinations but state that they do not intend to return to college in the autumn should be regarded as following a course of study up to the commencement of the next following academic year. As such, they are subject to disqualification up to the commencement of the next academic year (in September/October, as appropriate).

Third level students who state that they do not intend to continue with their studies and leave before the completion of the academic year (without sitting summer examinations) may be regarded as no longer "attending a course of study". As a result they are not subject to this disqualification.
