Heatwave hitting Canary islands?

    All model predictive experts!

    I am travelling to Canaries tomorrow for the week to get some sun. Looking at the various forecasts for that region, there appears to be some real heat arriving there from next Thurs pushing temps up to 34C ( not that typical for Canaries even in August)

    Can anyone confirm from what they are seeing that this is going to happen and what is driving it?

    im going tomorrow to tenerife, they hit 40c last week. I have friends living over there and they said its been the hottest summer in a long time.

    MT what do you think is driving the surge in heat down there and what do you see in particular for late next week?
