That being said, I did put in hundreds to San Andreas when I was younger

I was big into MP before I got into CoD. I lose count when I think of how many ours I put into THPS4, Fifa2002, Crash, Spyro, Sims, GTA 3, VC, SA and now Skyrim. :p

Admittedly it's harder to get into SP games post-CoD compared to pre-CoD, simply because I miss (and still do) the banter, laughs and all that comes with it.

Everything about this statement is 100% accurate.. The explosion of multiplayer game modes has really started to dominate the gaming world and thus it seems like less fun to play SP games!

Its probably coz its not as competitive or are variable..

Skyrim is now officially my most favourite modern game ever! (nothing beats the original super mario kart)

Its probably harder to appreciate it when just watching because its not your character or game.. What unique about it is how skyrim is different for every person.. the path you choose, the character style/development etc.

When you play the game you get immersed in the beautiful landscapes and INCREDIBLE soundtrack!! Its such a consuming game man.. really pulls you in!

This is actually probably why I'm afraid to buy it.. Even the hours I've put into Miencraft SP are crazy now that I think of it..

I think I have been purposely trying to avoid SP games :/

Took the words out of my mouth :x

I played through 60 hours (and only completed one part of the main quest and one side quest - Mages college) and I've decided to create another game using a different playstyle - sneak archer as opposed to destructive mage, and it feels like a different game most of the time. It's been so long since I did the main quest that it doesn't feel repetitive.

Edit - Playing last night just leaving the first Helgen Cave. Turned to the left and climbed a mountain. Paused for a few seconds looking at the Aurora Borealis Skyrimealis they were that pretty :p

San Andreas was a game that crossed a good few genres so was more open to a wider audience. At it's heart it was a open world, comedic look on early 90s, shooter and racer and all in a modern setting. But there was more to it but that's the core anyway. I've only ever heard a couple of people dislike GTA, and tbh their opinion on gaming isn't worth much to me. One of them being my best mates infact. But yeah, the setting for all of the GTA's even Vice City for older fans many of us can relate to in some shape or form.

I agree with Beertons, I watched my mate for an hour off and on play it pre-Xmas and I found it terribly boring but sure, that's just me. My mate seemed awfully engrossed in the game though, and good for him that he enjoys it. I'm sure it's a good game and delivers what it's meant to. Dragons, spells and that malark will never hold my interest though. Graphically, at least on my mates high spec PC, it looked fantastic, no denying that.

This my same friend who never opened mw2 and blops. If he had drink in the house, it'd be gone.

That, and the tranquil times just cruising along the coast, countryside, desert or cities while listening to the radio(listening to Freebird especially!). Like going on a good car trip IRL somewhere nice, something very relaxing about it. If not that, than dog fighting while on 6* :P

Different strokes and all that :P

I give pretty much every type of game a chance.. RPG's like skyrim or darksouls aren't great sp games for me because you can be a wizard ! Its because of how much more depth and how the story comes together compared to something like GTA or the CoD/BF SP were its just all michael bay styled action pieces... Guess its the zelda fan in me that hates those types of games.

On the other hand... for years i played very few single player games when I was flat out playing CS/Quake etc so i know how some people can get bored of SP easily, same reason i thought CoD4 was kind of crap at the time.. nothing compared to CS for me.

I actually don't know how people think CoD or BF are good in SP tho, Really poor imo... hasn't been a great FPS SP game since HL2 imo probably won't be another till HL3 ! :D. If im being honest.. playing CoD has given my interest in GOOD SP games a real boost !

True that. Im more of a star wars space kind of player when it comes to fantasy but skyrim really drew me in. Also since mw3 kinda bores me Im getting Star Wars Battlefront 2 on steam today to get my shooter fix instead. I had it years ago but we didnt even have internet then so I'm going to give it a lash. Hopefully it'll be as fun as I remember :D

X-men first class is an amazing Superhero movie, Michael Fassbender as Magneto was perfecto.
And the question is was it Fassbender or Vaughn who impregnated January Jones ?

He was great in it, his accent slips terribly when he's wearing the helmet though, its weird, he's starts shouting in a Monaghan accent on the beach near the end lol
