Look at A Serbian Movie...kind of a family horror movie...with rape and some one literally getting their eye poked out with a cock.

Culmination of a load of shít. Sent this to the class reps not that anything will be done by the college about it..
Hi, just felt putting into an e-mail what I personally (and many others in the class also) feel about the course, and this semester in particular:
    • Lecturers (Ted/Fiona/Aodhmar) turning up 20 minutes late for some labs without any previous notice.
    • Lecturers (Ted/Fiona) leaving labs and we're left stuck on a machine for 10-20+ minutes not knowing how to fix a problem or run certain machines. Few labs in particular for Ted people were left for a good 30 minutes doing nothing while he wasn't in the lab to answer any questions.
    • Not having a clear guideline on what a lecturer wants from a lab write up (Ted wants long explanation/Fiona wants concise answers) -> give a sample write up before the block of labs start. Fiona complaining that people wrote too much in a lab manual write up and that "I'm not reading the long ones", I'm sorry if that's just me but isn't that her job?
    • Assessment matrix, or lack thereof. Everything builds up to the last week when everything's due (and even the week after college is over for Aodhmar's suprise assignment). 4 (now 5 with Ted's computing test he 'told you about in September' on Wednesday) tests in 2 days and then four sets of lab manuals due for collection.
    • Lack of communication -> Ted not being able to send an e-mail that would take less than 5 minutes to send saying there's a test Wednesday, or that he was going to miss the double class on the 6th Dec (only found out Friday morning in Immuno from someone in class).
    • Ted not covering aspects of the course outlined in the Forensic Handbook, at least 3 of these outcomes haven't been covered/sufficiently covered in class in my opinion (those in italics), also him giving a good portion of the class chemistry + spec based projects when it's specifically a module about computers.

    Computing for Scientists (5 credits)
    LEARNING OUTCOMES
[FONT=Arial,Arial][FONT=Arial,Arial]On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to…
Describe the basic processes of computer forensics, including evidence collection and analysis.
    Describe basic molecular modeling techniques
Describe features of computing hardware and software used in the analytical laboratory.
Use molecular graphics applications to create and study chemical structures in to and three dimensions
Apply spreadsheets for processing experimental, molecular modeling and forensic data.
Use basic digital photography, file formats and digital image processing technology

    Thanks, Lee.

Jeez. Are you the class head? Let us know what the reply says. Not good for the course, be tough going. Even though you seem to be doing well with the results of exams.

What course are you doing? I did computer forensics in Waterford for 3 years and had the exact same problems with the course. We even sent a letter to the head aswell which was promptly igonored. Assholes screwed me out of a degree

I'm lazy in statistics (scraped a 40% in an excel test, thought I got around 75% at most), but most results are around the 70% mark, or have been up to now at least. Struggling to be motivated to come to class/do work with these dickhead lecturers tbh..

    Forensic Investigation and Analysis
Jokes, there's damn all forensics in this course, it's basically Analytical Chemistry. Never consider this course, ever. Sickening thing is I had 510 points from LC so coulda/shoulda gone to Dublin/Galway, cr*p guidance counsellor in secondary was no use..

    /rant :)
