Make sure it has HDCP if you're using HDMI > DVI Kers. DVI supports HDCP too and you won't get a picture unless the moniter is HDCP.

Hey Kersmash, would it be possible for you to hook your pc up to that monitor and have it use something like fraps and screen capture, while you're playing BO off it? Just an idea

No, fraps doesn't record the screen, it records the monitor output on your PC

i hadnt thought about that. I'm not sure tbh. I suppose it could be possible but I dont think I could have them both connected at the same time without more sockets and how I could use the laptop to record the output from another device. confusing. If i was doing that i suppose I could just run the ps through the laptop (it has a hdmi socket) and record that. then again, i have no idea of the physical and technical limitations of this kinda stuff.

Thing is most laptops have a HDMI out (not input) so you couldnt hook your ps3 up to your laptop screen through hdmi. Im sure everyone would be playing on monitors if it was that easy to record off it and not paying €200 for Pvr's

High definition copyright protection . On phone myself!
The ps3 uses it in the signal it sends out through hdmi . If the monitor / tv doesn't support it , they won't show a picture . Alot of monitors have it now though so u don't have too much to worry about. Should be a massive difference when you go from sd to hd !
The monitor you pick up will probably be full hd too . Not many hd ready monitors around now, if any at all .
