Any advice on Dundalk VS Bohemians tonight?

Hey all, basically I have 15 euro that I can bet and I can afford to lose it. The only time I bet was on the world cup and that was for one match and for a win.
I'll be going in person into paddy power so no online bets I'm afraid.

So far I think Bohemians to win would be good since it has low odds but then again I know nothing about football.

here's the link to the site page: http://www.paddypower.com/football/football-matches/league-of-ireland-premier-matches/Dundalk-v-Bohemians-2005529.htmlanyway

Any advice you can give would be great. And like I said I can afford to lose it so I don't really mind if I do lose.

Bohs should win comfortably, but they've a track record of letting themselves down regularly this year, especially away from home. TNS, last minute goal shipped to Pats, last week...
I have backed them, at small stakes, but would certainly not be surprised if they drew or lost.
I wouldn't recommend anyone gambling unless they've done their homework and are happy they know about what they're betting on.

I can see a 2-1 win here in favour of either side so I'm going on the overs2.5 at 11/10.

Yeah I know the usual story of doing my homework and whatnot, I'd rather take advice from people that actually have been doing it a while then try to jump in myself after learning.

Well what about going for more than 1.5 goals? That's pretty much a sure thing, I think. I'm not up to date on the current thing but usually when I saw them play there was at least 2 goals in most matches.

yesno1234, that's over 2.5 goals, right? If it is, how would I write that on a betting slip? The only thing I know how to write is for what team to win.

Over 1.5 goals is 1/3 so you would only be getting returns of €20. That to me is not worth the risk for only a €5 profit.

Just write the teams that are playing each other and then over 2.5 goals under it.

    EG
    Dundalk VS Bohemians
    OVER 2.5 GOALS

yesno1234, so you reckon that over 2.5 is worth it? I'd only be putting on 7 euro which gets me a nice 7 euro profit. I think that's good. I'd rather not go over 10 euro though with this match as I want to take about 5 euro for horses.

Yeah this is the most appealing overs match for me tonight. If you want to make a surer bet put your money on over2.5 goals in the athlone town vs salthill devon tomorrow night. Two teams which leak goals at an alarming rate.

yesno1234, what? I checked paddypower.com and didn't see that match at all. Nevertheless I'll do the over 2.5 goals tonight I think, thanks for you help.

Okay, thanks for all your help. Er just one more thing... how the Hell do I write a bet for a horse to win?
    http://www.paddypower.com/racing/daily-racing/killarney/6%3A50-HANDICAP-HURDL-2m-1f-2010876.html

I wanna go for slieveardagh to win. So would it be:

    silveardagh to win
    KILLARNEY 18:50
    single x €5?

yeah thats exactly it. A word of warning though don't bet on something you don't know anything about. It is next to impossible to win at horses without a great knowledge of it.

Ah sure I'll be fine, I hope. I got the advice from a friend of mine who usually knows his stuff, thanks for your help.

    Ha nice one. Win much?!

20 quid at 11/4. It was short favourite in a lengthy field. Plus it had been tipped here. Given how bogey racing at a lot of Irish courses is, that was enough for me. 55 quid to the good!

Yeah your lucky enough I didn't bet on him if I did I can guarentee he would have lost lol. I'm unbelievably unlucky at horses although it's probably mostly down to me knowing absolutely nothin about them. Never bet on them any more just sticking to what I know bitta GAA and alot of soccer.

Ditto mate. I know nothing about the gee-gees and don't really want to know about them either.
Seems to me you can do your homework and still get lorried all the time.
I have a bit of luck on them though (got the last three grand national winners by sheer luck!) but I only bet on them when I feel there's an edge.
In Irish racing on small courses at small meets like Killarney tonight, there's always the possibility, not necessarily of a fix but certainly of one horse being way out in front in terms of ability.
That's what the odds said to me. Add that to the fact that our mate here had got a tip, and I thought it was worth a 20 euro punt. Glad I did in the end!

I actually didn't. I didn't think it was worth it. I'll try the over 2.5 goals for tomorrow and see if I can find anything else about the horses.

If youse don't mind me asking, on average at say 4/1 or 5/1 for a horse that you got a good tip for, how much would you bet?

Ah youse were on about the horse, I got the damn time mixed up and missed the race :P

Depends how reliable the source is :P

in the long term yes, but its been proven that just picking by the colour of silks and names of horses works out better than following form etc, i remember reading this somewhere :pac:
