Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

OP what have you been doing all summer? Better yet what have you been doing all year that it has come to this situation?

    Best of luck OP

Now is not the time for the OP to be thinking back kicking themselves for messing up, although I would have more sympathy had they not been considering going out after the first exam.

    You're going to fail.

However, if you bear in mind that college is for losers especially the ones who need to repeat exams because they're too lazy to study.

Once you accept this basic fact you can leave college safe in the knowledge that you can still have a long and rewarding career in scrotum scratching on the social welfare with no qualifications.

Einstein regularly stayed up for periods of 4 days without sleep.

But that was more to do with his undying interest levels...

    ...and later he became insaneish

Literally your only way of doing this is to get a hold of some speed or meth.

That's it. That's the only way you can get it all done in time.

Staying awake for 4 days is less useful than it sounds, after the first 48 hours you have the intellectual power of a carrot. You would be better off getting 2 or 3 hours every night and working your hole off for the rest of the time. Best of luck.

Definitely passed my exam this morning. I had failed it by 1% before and the study I did paid off as it all seemed to come up on the paper. Didn't ace it by any means but certainly passed it. Have 11 pages or so to do tonight for one of the projects and then I'll just try get whatever I can done in my remaining time for the final project which I can afford to fail as it can be carried onto next year, so long as I submit something resembling an attempt at it. Not ideal, but perhaps a good outcome considering the mess I got myself into.

At this rate I probably only have to pull one all-nighter. Plenty of time for more in future though.

Good going OP! I'm actually routing for you because anytime anything comes up about someone repeating people are always quick to judge and send the insults flying. Anyone can end up in this situation for whatever particular reason, it could be something personal, ye you could just be a lazy arse but is that offensive to anyone but yourself, I don't think so.

Doing good, first hurdle over, sounds like you have that first project in the bag too, you have two full days to throw something together for the 2nd one, certainly doable. Would that be 11 pages you are doing tonight instead of going out? It better be :pac: If it can be carried over to next year all the better, you should be feeling good, just get the head down and do what you can in the time you've left. G'wan son :D

Seriously, what's with all the begrudgery towards students? College is not a school playground. You have responsibility for yourself, you don't owe anything to your lecturers, your work will answer for itself. The onus is on you, not the back hand in the naughty corner. Let me know when you need the lend of a ladder for that horse.

Set three alarm clocks so less likely to sleep in the morning of an exam and not be late for it!

Watch the "nightmare on Elm street" film series 1 to 7, they have some great tips in there.

    gems of wisdom include:

    Cutting your own eyelids off.
Burning yourself with cigarettes when you feel snoozy.
Have two creepy children outside your house singing "one two, Freddys coming for you" while playing skiprope in slow motion.

I knew watching all those horror films in my childhood would pay off someday.

    Well done ;)

You have to ration your all-nighters accordinly now!
Think of it this way, if you've got monotonous work to get done in your
project that requires no thought whatsoever, more manual work or
repetitious stuff, then put that off for the all nighter & prepare/do the
toughtful stuff early so you have the energy to invest time/brainpower in
what actually matters. It's an acquired skill that takes many days & nights
to master but son - if you passed this exam already after a weekend of
skimming on the edges we can make this work.
Just get a lot of sleep the night before the exam, seriously!

  • OP, how did you end up in this situation? Just curious. Did something happen or are you really lazy?

I've left a few college projects on the proverbial long-finger and now find myself in the sticky situation of having to sit one exam on Monday and needing to submit two 36 page projects for Thursday. I also need to teach myself the subjects in this time.

I figure that the only way I can manage this is to have a few sleepless nights. I'm going out on Monday, after my exam so figure I can drift off for a few hours when I come back in and wake up early to make some headway on the projects.

How do I best go about this? Should I binge on coffee or red bull, or should I eat in any particular way? The projects don't have to be particularly well done, just meet some minimum criteria so some zombification will be okay.

    Jesus H Christ:rolleyes:

Stick a black cat plus banger up your hole and put a match to it.

Resulting damage will ensure no sleep for a week and should teach you to be a bit more decisive.

If anyone is in the same situation again, I have found the powernap most effective.

I've procrastinated once or twice in my five years at university, and I found that taking a 20-30 minute nap at my desk was quite good. You'll be wrecked so falling asleep there won't be a problem, and staying out of bed makes it a lot easier to get back up once your alarm goes.

Drink at LEAST 4 red bulls and you will be good for a while. Even better, make yourself huge mugs of filter coffee and down those too. Keep in mind though, caffeine can be abused
like any other drug, so don't go overboard. Now you can stay away from the hardcore stuff like cocaine/speed if you follow the above. This method is both legally and socially endorsed:)

Snort a gram of drain cleaner every 8 hours.

If you're intelligent enough to put off your studies and plan on hitting the drink when you're so far behind, I'm sure the above advice will sound excellent...

Not quite got to the stage of sleepless nights and days full of zombie-esque behaviour yet, so I'll be grand!

I found that getting the stuff that I didn't want to do out of the way first was the best way to do it. I actually enjoyed the last project, so much so that I actually went over the word count. Or maybe I was just delirious.
