Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Get a 3.5m nylon strop for general towing rather than a rope, easier to store and keep clean (and monitor it's condition), you'll need a couple of rated D shackles as well. Try a searching for a lifting and rigging supplier near you.

Any builders merchents in the country will sell rope and its one of the few things that is still cheap IMO, (10 euro buys a lot of rope).
Sean is right though a nyoln strop and a few shackels are better and much neater to store in the back.

Depends what you are using it for. For towing on the road you don't want it too long or some clown will get between you which is why I suggested 3.5m.

Off road you'd maybe want longer or use shorter ones looped through each other.

If you do recover or tow someone, get them to attach the tow rope or agree that they are happy with where you've put it. It's embarrassing when you see a shiny chrome bull bar being ripped off the front of a Transit!

i drive an old Hilux Mark 4 and think it's great that you defender owners are making sure you are equipped with tow ropes and the like as I get tired of having to use mine to pull you guys out of all kinds of situations.:)
