Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Continental are my preference. You should also look at pumping your tyres more or changing your tyres.

    Bourke,
Don't be afraid to post an image if you are getting a lot of punctures. Perhaps, we could diagnose.

Make sure you try and mark off where the punctures are occurring on the tire and the rim. If it is in the same place then something is wrong. Could be a tire, bad rim tape, or lot's of other things.

Snake-bites are easy to diagnose and demonstrate improper tube insertion.

By marking the area on the tire and rim, you'll find problems. Once I had a tire that was eating tubes, felt the tire, and all was well. However, under pressure, the tire allowed radials to pinch through. Cost me two tubes, but at least I figured it out.

There's lots of thick tubes out there. I buy the cheap tubes. I have not found the high end stuff to be anymore resistance to punctures.

You can buy online, but the difference is minimal unless buying in bulk.

I actually don't recommend this, I bought in bulk and I've had to give a lot away. A repair kit should be your first port of call. Two or three tubes and a repair kit will last a looooong time. In theory you could patch a tube for as long as there is room for a patch. I've been running on a patched tyre for over a year and didn't know until a recent tyre change. I certainly wouldn't have been able to feel it.

Unless the valve is damaged you can reuse the tube.

As for the punctures, what type of tyres do you have and do you own a floor/track pump?

Hey DV, thanks for the response.
I am riding Conti attack/force. I have had 3 flats since I got back home. Wouldn't have had that many in a year in the states.
I have a floor pump and about 12 tubes coming from the states with my shipment. So at the minute when I get a flat, I either change on the ride using CO2 inflator, or if I am at home, I go to the lbs with the wheel. I could get tubes on PBK for $3 over, and here it's e5.50 on PBK, that's like $7!!
    What the hell!
