Brought the kids down to oldbridge house this morning for a change and was well impressed, lovely grounds and basically a great park setting for the kids to run around, good cafe - you can pay to enter the visitors centre (wasnt bothered with that). There was some displays of musket fire / cannons and some horses on show all in the red coat gear - the kids loved it. Well impressed and plenty of people there , some picnics, lots of joggers (lots of open safe space) and all free (bar visitors centre). Fully recommend it as I guess most drogs know very little about the place.

Been to The Battle of Boyne site as well...
Did the Visitor Centre (Found it Short, but it was interesting for the Kids and they took some detail in)
Beautiful Park land, Open fields and walk's along the Canal.

It's a Shame the place is not remembered for the 1500 men that died on both sides...
Imagine most of the Irish catholic troops were raw, hastily trained, poorly equipped, and only a minority of them had functional muskets.
Up against well trained professional soldiers equipped with the latest weapons and trained officers.
If nothing else we should remember these men that died for a cause that had they won, would have changed Europe's History .... as well as our own.
