Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Question regarding a suspension for a red card

    Hi all,

Basically a player, got sent off for a tackle that no-one except the referee thought was worthy of a yellow card, not to mind a red. The club hasnt received any letter yet regards the suspension in effect.

Its the junior league, in Limerick. Does the players suspension come in to effect straight away or once the club has received the letter? How would the player go about appealing the red card if they wish?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, a bit confused about the matter!

    Scuba steve

I can't comment on thee league you're in but form experience I've found that the suspension is immediate. It's usually one game and is thus served by the time the letter arrives.

Don't they have disciplinary hearings for red cards, and you can appeal it.Think there's usually a fine for a sending off too.Although, I wouldn't know what it's like in whatever league you're playing. It's like that in Cork though

Cheers lads, ya theres a disciplinary hearing alright, in the letter the club gets you get a time and place for it. And ya theres a fine, think its about 30 quid

appealing wont matter a difference in any of these local leagues, its a joke.

usually there would be a disciplinary hearing on the tuesday or wednesday before the next game, so you can clarify it then

If he/she is one of the better players, do they not still play them under the name of another not so good player these days? :D

Or the banger system, where would we be without it!?

"Howya Johnny, can you come up and play for us we've only 10 players"

"Sure I'm not signed Micko and I only got into bed at 8am,I'm still pissed"

    "You'll fit in perfectly so!"

We've already had our second game (yesterday) so hopefully that will count as the one match to be banned for (unless the suspension is an extra 2 games)
