Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone else have these. When I got the 7D in April I had to get the Sigma lens rechipped as it wouldn't focus automatically. Everything was fine after that until last week when I was going through some pictures I had taken at the weekend there was quite a few out of focus and on others the focus was not where it was set up on the camera

    Anyone else having problems ??

I got one too.... it worked fine and then all of a sudden focusing just stopped working - both manual and auto. Then 10 minutes later it started working again.
Sent it for a repair to Cork, they couldn't replicate this issue but replaced the HSM motor as a precaution.
Unfortunately this didn't help much as the issue reoccurred, so I'm sending it back for a repair again.

    Not the best experience tbh.

Do you know how long the warranty is on the Sigma lens and would the fact that I got it sorted only back in April renew any of the warranty. Need to pull out the receipt but think it is over the year old.

I would say it's the standard 1 year warranty. Not sure though if it gets extended after repair.

Might give them a call tomorrow and see what the story is.

All sorted. Was in Fota wildlife park on Wednesday and again I noticed some of the shots where hit and miss, so I called the shop I bought the lens from for the number of the company in Cork. I rang and arranged to call in and Liam sorted it for me, he said that at the 200mm end it was back focusing which was putting the section of the picture I wanted in focus out of focus, so he did what ever needed to be done to be fixed and walla perfect again.

Good to hear your lens is fixed. Do you have any contact details for Liam?

Nope - its two years. The 1 year warranty is the manufacturer quarantee. You have two years with the retailer (whoever you bought the thing off).

Thanks for the number! Will give him a call about a broken Canon lens.
