Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Barry, De Jong and Toure giving a masterclass in midfield.

Gerrard's in hiding, being totally outclassed.

Absolutely, said exactly the same. Lack of a DM is actually noticeable. City getting a lot of space in the third quarter area.

Torres right now is a liability for Liverpool

I'd bring Poulsen on asap. Shore up the midfield.

    Torres is clearly unfit ffs.

Getting owned? He is getting kicked every time he gets the ball, is that what you meant?

And to think, it was claimed earlier on this forum that Mascherano was the best holding midfielder in the world.

I think Nigel De Jong has taken a massive dump on that claim tbh, and has done for the last couple of years.

I'm not going near your hole.

I still think he's unfit. His burst of pace isn't quite there.

very flat attacking by liverpool :/ dont see us getting much chances at all. city have some monster players though, quite impressed with them so far (in a bad way! )

well it's hard to reach a fast pace if you're falling over your own legs, I don't think fitness has anything to do with that. one foot in front of the other

    simples.

    Adam Johnson is special.

Cambiasso and Essien are the main men in that position, but De Jong is certainly up there.

Mascherano is the most overrated player in the Premier League, IMO.

I would have agreed with you this time last year, but my God the work he does is unreal. Worth two of De Jong anyway. If he could pass hed be one of the best in the world.

And I think you are wrong, De Jong has been the holding midfielder in front of a defence that conceded 45 goals in the league last season, yeah you are obviously spot on or perhaps I have taken a massive dump on your assertions.

I know he's not had to do much, but what do people think of Joe Hart so far? He's looked far from commanding and theres been a few mishaps with his defence, especially Kompany, there's been a lack of communication, Given-esque :P

I think I may well have taken a massive dump on your claims TBH.

how many of the 45 was directly caused by de jong?

another fascinating stat, but means SFA as usuall.

Gerrard coming in to the game a bit more now. Couple of good chances, bit like Scholes chance yesterday, except for the result obviously.
