For all the talk of City needing time to bed down, Liverpool look like it might take them a while to make their adjustments this year too.

They're playing against a side containing (arguably) four CBs and four central midfielders and still look the less creative.

Johnson has proven tonight that the potential is there for him to be the solution to Englands worries on the left. He's been arguably the best player on the park tonight, incisive and mazing runs are just some of the fine additions he's brought to the City attack, he'd have been the perfect replacement for Giggsy.
