Been with 02 PAYG for 10 years or so. I see Three are doing an offer of €25 per month for unlimited texts to all networks, 200 flexi units (minutes) per month and free 3 to 3 calls.

However, when you select the plan on the website there's no mention of the free texts - it appears to be an add-on.

    Anyone any experience of this?

    Or recommendations?

i believe they have their free texts cappad to fair usage policy of 3000 per month...so be sure to read t&t's before going into anything...

im also tempted to go over to their bill pay but im still shaking of the thought of having to deal with their customer care...got 3 broadband and the CC is just so bad...they have no knowledge of what to do...their just give scenarios and they read out of the book

Hmmm. Thanks for that. I'd never use the 3000 texts, but 02s CS is 1st class.

the T+C's for this offer *Best of Both" 25 euro - 200 flex, unlimited any network texts, unlimited 3 - 3 calls:

    * The Best of Both free text messages promotion is only available to customers who sign up to Best Of Both by 30th September 2010. Promotion ends 31st December 2010. Fair usage policy of 3,000 texts per month applies. Standard rates apply thereafter.

† On-net calls subject to fair usage 3,000 minutes per month. Extra units and unlimited on-net calls promotion will be applied from month 2. Promotion ends 31st October 2010. Extra units will not appear on your invoice. Direct debit required. Promotion open to new customers only. Free extra only available to Best of Both 45 customers.

All rates inclusive of VAT. | Best of Both monthly fee includes data. 1mb data = 1 talk minute.

Add-Ons and certain other services not included in monthly bundle. ‡Customers signing up to Best of Both 45 are entitled to receive one free monthly Add-on from mid-September 2010 until 30th June 2011. Minimum contract just 12 months. Based on payment by direct debit. Alternative payment methods incur additional €4.50 per month charge.

Thats is interesting - the flex units seem better value than bill pay with 1 unit = 1 mb of data ; its 1 unit = 500kb of data on the bill pay

Thanks for that. But I wonder does it stop and revert to the older tariff after Dece 31st? Very confusing really.

It won't revert to the older plan, it was changed when the new flex plan came in so it would still look like a good offer. It may change again but the offers usually get better not worse.
Usually whatever plan you sign up to with 3 they let you keep as long as your with them and won't force you onto some other plan.

There's no real catches with best of both but you will need to top it up if you want to call premium numbers like 11890's etc.
The flexible units are the same as ordinary flexible units you can use them for data or calling the Uk etc.
