Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One part of the tube swells up quite large

Hi, i got a replacement tube for my bike.
When i pumped up the tube for the first time, it seems to swell quite a lot in one part of the tube....when i let the air out to bring it back to itys proper size all around , the tube is quite flat..so the air doesnt seem to be spread evenly inside the tube...
Has anybody seem anything like this before.

are you sure, because its quite large.the reason i say this is..ebcause i got another tube the day before and its burst once i pumped it up.So this one i have now was a replacement..

Did it burst before you fitted it inside the tyre?. Inflate the tube with just one or two pumps, just enough to give the tube its "shape". Then fit the tube into the tyre. Only then do you inflate the tube fully.

Why are you inflating a tube to bursting point before you put it in the tyre?

Because rubber doesn't grow on trees.

i was inflating it to normal level...i have never seen this happen with tubes before..is this the norm now?

Oh come on! That's not real. What next? The carbon-fibre bush?

OP - it suggests the rubber of the tube is a different thickness at that point. Shouldn't matter once it's inside the tyre though.

To be clear, you cannot achieve a high PSI with an unconstrained tyre, because the SIs grow faster than the Ps do.

    120psi?

Sure it doesn't even half fill the room at that pressure.

    Better keep pumping then...
