Trinity Science, guidance needed

I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong section of the forum, I am a bit confused as to where to post and I would like to get answers as quick as possible.

    Here's my current situation:

I was aiming for Radiography/Optometry for my Leaving Cert, but I didn't get enough points so I didn't get offered a place. However, I did get an offer for Trinity General Science. My main aim is still to study Radiography but now I am unsure as to whether or not I should take the offer from Trinity.

According to my Guidance Counselor, it might be possible to study 1-2 years of a Science course and then use the qualification I get from it to study Radiography in the UK. However, she said she was unsure so I'm just wondering is that possible? and if yes, is there a high chance of being accepted for radiography in UK this way? (I don't care where I go in UK, as long as I get the course).

The other option is to repeat the Leaving cert but I have the fear of not being able to get the points even if I repeat and wasting another year. Plus, I think a year or two of science would be much more fascinating.

If you guys don't have the answers, can you at least show me the general direction as to where to get them as I really am clueless.

    Thanks in advance.

In a similar position myself, was hoping for pharmacy in trinity but missed out on the points so got offered general science. I'd be very interested to hear what you find about this or if there is any possibility of say doing the first two general years and then being able to transfer back to first year pharmacy ? Does anyone have any experience with situations like this ?

Ya do general science I would say. My sister didn't get medicine first time round in the lc so she did general science, and pending her results in her degree a top English college said they would take her on for medicine. She got the result needed and after a couple of interviews at the college they accepted her for medicine. Shes qualified now working her second year of internship before she chooses what area she wants to specialise in :)

So your sister got into an English University that she would otherwise not get into with her Leaving Certificate results alone because of her excellent results in her science degree?

Sorry for asking such a stupid question. I fail to completely grasp the English language despite it being my native language, and I just want to make sure I understood your post correctly before clicking "accept" and possibly changing my life for the years to come.

Ya exactly, she did the lc in 2000 got 485, did general science because she didn't get medicine and then after finishing science she got accepted for medicine :)
